Flags for the Fourth

I absolutely love patriotic decor! I think there’s nothing better than a house flying the stars and stripes. We had all of ours up in time for flag day last week and will enjoy them through July.

I have used the same buntings and smaller flags for quite a few years. I store all of this in a closet in the garage and it really doesn’t take up a lot of room there. The sun was setting in these pictures. I just barely got them in. You can also see here that we cut back all the shrubs in the long bed on the hill. They were looking hideous. Now they look even more hideous with weeds coming in. Does anyone else abhor yard work?!

The darling firecracker door hanger is from Bronwyn Hanahan. I love all of her pieces for every occasion throughout the year. I’ve been putting flags in my ferns ever since I saw Martha Stewart do it probably 15 years ago.

Elsa Belle was, of course, present. The moment she hears the door crack open she comes running.

I also have my monogram anchor on the friend’s entry.  You can see all the details for how I made it in THIS POST

The last little touch out front are a few flags in the driveway pot.

I hope you are having a great week. Whit and I are now home from Myrtle Beach, SC and Honey and John are back from a week split between Maryland and Delaware for lacrosse tournaments and beach time!

  1. I’ve been putting flags in my ferns since I saw yours around the year 2012. I guess you are influential like Martha!

  2. Love every picture! I love America so much and it makes my heart happy to see your decor every year. Thank you for inspiring me and so many to be patriotic and thankful for our blessings. Thankful for you too!
