Labor Day Send Off

On this day when we celebrate the American worker, it was fitting that my cousin took the first step of his career. Riley joined the United States Army and left for basic training today. I am just overcome with emotion and pride for his selfless and brave decision to serve our country.

I’ve admired his mom, my cousin Anne, for my whole life. From the time we were kids to her fabulous teenage hair to when she first became a mother to today when she dropped her only child off to join our military.

Please say a little prayer for both of them today, if you will. I know they could use it.

Godspeed, Riley!

  1. Oh my goodness, yes, I will say a prayer for both of them. I’ve been an Army wife for 16 years. I’ve always said that I can handle being married to a soldier as long as I never have to be the Mom of one. My heart goes out to her, but thankfully we have Moms like her to raise brave and selfless kids like she has done.

  2. A prayer said for both of them. Be sure to write him since he might need some cheerful words. If you get a chance to go to his graduation, you will definitely Be filled with pride for him and our country.

  3. God bless Riley, your family and our beautiful country. God shed His grace on thee. 🇺🇸🙏❤️💫🙏❤️🇺🇸 Thank you for your sacrifices to serve this great nation in these disturbing times. May we all see better days ahead, made possible by wonderful, proud and brave patriots like Riley. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Jane ~ San Diego

  4. Saying prayers for Riley and his mom. God bless Riley and his brave, sacrificial heart deciding to serve our nation to keep us safe and free. Privileged to pray for his safety and protection and his mom’s heart.
