Haunted Halloween Home Tour 2021 {Den}

Welcome back! I have many more Halloween haunts to share in the den today.

Spiders and crows have run amok and I’ve pulled out all things black and spooky! I toned down the orange a bit this year and went with black and white.

I found the black paper spiders at Michael’s a while back and use painters tape to attach them each year.

I love using the boy’s silhouette pillows in here for an extra touch of black at Halloween. Mother and I made these when they were toddlers.

Our Tales from the Haunted Mansion series always comes off the bookshelf this time of year for a more prominent spot. Harry Potter books would also make fun Halloween decor and are something I’m sure many have sitting around already.

I picked up the creepy Dollar Store pictures many years ago. They came unframed, so I also purchased Dollar Store frames to make them look more substantial.  I’ve had the spooky hand for years – picked it up in New Orleans while visiting the Uptown Acorn.

A flock of crows landed on the antlers. Mother and I glittered the bones years ago using a Martha Stewart kit. We downloaded spooky art to the Frame TV and it makes me SO excited every time I see it. More to come on that later.

I always keep the old Nancy Drew books of Mother’s out on the curio but I especially love them at Halloween. I dressed up felt witch hats from the dollar bin with ribbons for the two dogs. Back by popular demand, I chopped off the heads of the family silhouettes. This year I used my cricut to cut out blood drips.

The coffee table always gets a colorful fall bouquet, candy corn and my skeleton hand! I love decorating with candy at the holidays and a bonus is that I hate candy corn so it isn’t even remotely tempting. Seasonal magazines are also nice in holiday decor and something you probably already have lying around.

Our “puzzle table” at the banquette is set up with the Jack Skellington puzzle to start the season.  The mugs were from my shop back in the day.

And, of course, y’all already know that we’ve been listening to the Haunted Mansion and Nightmare Before Christmas vinyls on the Victrola.

Looking from the porch door, next to the record player, you can see this perspective of the room.

Looking towards the kitchen I still have a pinch myself moment every time I see that view! I carried the blanket home as my souvenir from Alaska – it is a Pendleton found in the resort rooms at Denali.

Speaking of the kitchen, we still marvel every day at how glad we are that we cut down the peninsula.

Thanks for hanging in until the dead end of the den.

  1. Your Halloween decor is so on point! I love the Pendleton blanket brought back from Alaska, picking up things here and there to add to the mix! I do this type of thing too and it adds so
    much unique flavor to seasonal decor. Well done and so fun for the kiddos and the adults!!
