Celebrating Christmas 2021 {Merry Little Luncheon}

I love having friends and family and teenagers and neighbors in our home. I love every detail from the prep to the party, in fact. I was so excited to welcome my sweet neighbors for a merry little luncheon and ornament exchange last week!

The beautiful thing about entertaining at Christmas is that the place is already fully festive and ready to go! I lit the candles, turned on the apple Christmas station and was ready for the crew. Honey lit the fire for us, even though it was about 70 degrees this particular afternoon. It’s ambiance. :-)

I put together a lunch menu of family favorites and dishes we have almost every Christmas. I’ll share all of the recipes in the next couple of days – just as soon as I can type them all up! (Click HERE for Recipes!)

While the dining table was prepped to set ten, it was so nice out that we opted to eat on the porch.

The highlight of the menu was serving a hot apple cider in my grandma O’s punch bowl! Mother and Daddy O cleaned it up and gave it to me at Thanksgiving. I just knew I had to use it! I get overly sentimental about these things. I day dream about my grandma using it decades ago. I did ask Daddy-O if he remembers her using it and got back a one word text “vaguely”. Men! :-)

John’s “most favorite raspberry tea” from his Confirmation dinner party (I haven’t shared that because Sister has every single photo and is holding them hostage) made a reappearance this afternoon. It was a huge hit… again!

After lunch we sat around the tree and exchanged ornaments!

Many thanks go out to my co-hostess with the mostess and bestest bestie ever for always coming early and staying late to help with my things. She was out of town for John’s surprise sweet sixteen and I told her she is prohibited from travelling again when I have an event on the calendar. :-)

Party Menu and Recipes

It’s been a season of parties and happenings and I LOVE IT! I went to a fabulous party the evening after this one, we attended a murder mystery party the following night, and we’re not done quite yet!
