Classic Christmas Home Tour 2021 {Porch & Pool}

Today wraps up my 2021 Classic Christmas Home Tour with the porch and pool areas! These two spaces are almost always in use.

Screened Porch Classic Christmas Decor

Since adding the pool last year, I pared down my holiday decor on the porch for Halloween and Christmas. I kept more of my everyday items out and just added a few muted touches and a lot of white lights.

The tree out here is simple.  It is just inexpensive glass balls and oyster shells.  Honey drilled holes in the shells years ago for this purpose. I top it with a lit star from WalMart, also quite a few years old.

We primarily gather around the fireplace on the porch this time of year. The only thing I added for Christmas was a fresh garland with a strand of twinkle lights.

Even on the coffee table I didn’t do much. I simply added a Christmas topper to my Happy Everything plate.

I keep piles of blankets and pillows out here and pop them in the wash every week or so. The lit snow flakes were a last minute addition. We used them for John’s Sweet 16 and have enjoyed them on the porch as well.

A beachy hanger on the door to the kitchen finishes this side of the porch.

On the dining table, I added two brass reindeer passed down from Mother. We dine, work and do homework out here on nice days so I like to keep it easy and functional.

Finally, a simple vignette is on the buffet. Like the dining table, we use this buffet often so I like holiday decor that can be easily moved.

Pool & Cabana Classic Christmas Decor

And now, the final space of the tour – the pool and cabana!

We completed this project last year, and you can find all of the sources and details here:

You enter into the grassy (turf) area that we use mostly for ping pong, but also for projecting movies onto the back wall of the house and for a dining table every now and then. The garlands are from Costco and are the best.

I replaced my summer flowers with pansies, and topped the lanterns with red bows for color.

The cabana acts as the fence wall on that side, provides privacy from the street and neighbors, and makes for an amazing shaded lounge area. This area is more used than the pool deck this time of year. The boys LOVE to watch sports, tv and movies out here.

Inside the cabana, I added a few Christmas touches in red and green!

The mistletoe and garlands are from Target, wreaths from Hobby Lobby, pillow covers from etsy (to fit existing, everyday throw pillows), and ribbon from amazon. (ribbon links in bottom of post)

I had a couple of extra plaid pillow covers and added them at the far end for a little Christmas cheer.

Merry Christmas, y’all! Only eight more days!

  1. Gorgeous tour, Amanda! How nice that you have all that extra living space – especially with kids. And how nice that you can leave your pool open year round. We have ours covered from late October till about April. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!
    Cheers!

  2. You saved the best for last but your Classic Christmas Home Tour is always wonderful and I enjoyed seeing every room. I always love the understated elegance in your dining room. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy 2022!

P.S. Just wondering if your pool is salt water? So many people are going that way now and we stayed at a resort last year where the pool was salt water.

  3. Thank you for letting us in your home every year. I love how you blend the current and traditional elements in your home. Your outdoor space makes me drool. Lol
