Meals & Memories are Made Here {Printable Meal Template}

Summer is in full swing and, in addition to my own two hungry teens, I’ve had the pleasure of watching a revolving door of friends for the past week. I couldn’t be happier. I look at John and friends and think…. this is going to be one of the best summers of your life. You can drive, you have dear friends, and the responsibilities of adulthood are a few years away.

That said, I’m still working full time (although I have successfully scaled back tremendously for a much better work life balance) and Honey works at home a few days a week. While we may be physically present, we cannot drop everything any time someone is hungry. My boys can cook a basic meal and can certainly scrape together a snack. The trouble is that they can’t seem to come up with an idea. :-) (Kind of how they can’t seem to find something in the fridge or closet that is literally in front of their face.) Anyhoo, I have meal planned my entire adult life and decided it was time to give them an actual list of their options. This has worked flawlessly the past week and I’m ready to share with YOU!

I created the template, laminated it and used a dry erase marker to fill it in. On Sundays, I have always spent time making a couple dozen muffins, cutting fruit and veggies, etc. to help make the week easier. This week, I browned ground beef for tacos and cooked bacon for BLTs as well. I took stock of the fridge and pantry and made a list of options for breakfast, snacks and lunch. I also got ahead of the daily question “what’s for supper?” by listing the plan in black and white.

You can download the PDF here:

I have had a personal laminator at home for a decade and use it often. Here are links to my laminator and the pouches I’ve always used. I cut them down easily when doing something smaller.

  1. See, I need someone to do that for me! Like your boys, I have no idea what to eat. I have a hard time making food decisions and just need someone to tell me what to have. I’ve tried several menu planning services, but they always seem to feature time-consuming recipes. I wish there were plans featuring very simple foods.

  2. I think it is fantastic that you do this! Especially these days when so many people use take out as their go-to choice and with delivery, door dash and uber eats you don’t even have to leave the house! It’s a hard habit to break and certainly not the healthiest. Good for you!!
