Celebrating Christmas 2022 {Making Tinsel Trees}

Mother was inspired by Parker Kennedy’s tinsel Christmas tree workshop and came to Atlanta with ALL the fixings to have our very own girls craft day! We set up at my kitchen table – I laid out my crafting oil cloth and Mother had the rest. She brought beautiful blue and white cachepots, ornaments, tinsel, foam topiaries and even all of the hot glue guns.

We planned, strategized, laughed and glued our fingers to tinsel and ornaments to the tablecloth during our crafting extravaganza. It was truly SO much fun!

Each of our trees turned out different, but all beautiful. I love having this special memento of a day well spent with the best family on the planet.

Merry Christmas, y’all!

  1. Oh, what fun! I am crazy about these trees. They are so festive and your personalities really shine in each one of them. Great job to your darling mom. I see Daddy O’s Ziplocks were in on the event too! Ha! Thank you for all of your creative and inspiring posts this weekend. It’s always a hoot to see what you are up to and Christmas is the best! Happy Birthday to John! Unbelievable! Always stay true to God and yourself, John and you’ll go as far as your dreams soar. Jane ~ San Diego

  2. As usual, a delight to read! You have a lovely family and such great times together. I’m just wondering when you had time to decorate for Christmas AND host Thanksgiving AND a birthday? Well done!

    1. HAHA! Well, I had a LOT of help for Thanksgiving. Getting Christmas up was a whirlwind. And, at 17, the celebration consisted of a breakfast and taking his friends out to dinner. <3

  3. These trees are gorgeous! What a fun group event? Do you have a tutorial on the trees? I was wondering what ornaments are compatible with a glue gun:) and is the tinsel applied after the ornaments are glued?
    How fun and thank you for sharing!!

    1. Thank you! We didn’t do a tutorial – just enjoyed it. The ornaments are plastic and both those and the tinsel worked just fine with hot glue! We did ornaments first and then tinsel but we just kind of made it up based on Parker Kennedy’s pics!
