Celebrating Christmas 2022 {The Select & Sounds of the Season for Hop on a Cure}

In lieu of exchanging gifts this year, my bestie and I treated ourselves to the “ultimate” Christmas girls night out.

The Select

We started our evening at The Select with dinner and drinks in their stunning Christmas lounge. We finished up our meal here sharing “Santa’s Milk & Cookies”, one of the fabulous Christmas cocktail options. Yum!

Sounds of the Season for Hop on a Cure

After dinner, we walked over to City Springs for the Sounds of the Season concert benefitting Hop on a Cure. All I can say is gosh, what a wonderful night. John Driskell Hopkins (many of you know him from Zac Brown Band) was diagnosed with ALS last Christmas has already raised over $750,000 for research to prevent, reverse, and cure ALS through his Hop On A Cure Foundation. Hop, Jen and their beautiful girls are beloved members of our community and watching them navigate this past year with such strength and passion is awe inspiring. My bestie’s mother also had ALS, so this was a doubly special event for us to attend together.

The Sounds of the Season lineup was so much fun and the perfect kick-off to Christmas vacation. My favorite was when the took the stage with his daughter Faith to sing Let it Go. (Sidenote: Whit was in preschool with his oldest Grace and she was a STAR even way back then. Honey and I always remember how her proud daddy was – front and center and completely mesmerized by her.) My bestie has seen the Indigo Girls twenty-three times and literally had tears in her eyes both times he sang with Emily Saliers. Of course, Yacht Rock Revue is always so much fun and we both loved seeing Hop on stage with his childhood idol Debby Boone.

Merry Christmas, all.
