Musings

It’s been a good long while, so here’s a fun dump of things on my phone and on my mind.

The boys asked their uncle for one thing this Christmas – a gallon – EACH – of his chili. I love that he delivered just that.

This kid has been dazzling us with his sense of style and individuality for fourteen years.

Who remember this? (Those were not his mittens. He found them in the store on the ground in the 20 seconds I had my back to him.)

For a couple of years now, I have loved Throat Coat tea when a sore throat hits! Sometimes I sweeten it with honey, but it really doesn’t need a thing to be tasty. The boys always ask for it too.

Y’all know I’m neither a sports fan or a UGA fan, but I do love a great party. My friend Anna Wagner hosted an event at a local theater to watch the Natty. So much fun!!

Anna Dasher came home THREE times last week with toys that aren’t hers. And she adores them! Honey finally called our neighbor and he says he doesn’t know anything about it.

One time Whit and I were invited by Chicken Salad Chick to have lunch on them. We basically ate everything on the menu. He still talks about that. Anyway, my fave order is still the salad with a scoop of Olivia’s Old South the poppyseed dressing. Yum yum yum!

When we were at Honey’s mom’s house hunting down pics and yearbooks, I found this jigger in her basement storage room. She said I could have it and it polished up beautifully. I love family finds!!

I also found this. Now, for the first time ever I saw Whit in him. Everyone else says 10000% John.

My favorite night of the week is the night Whit cooks. It’s usually some creation based on ramen. And it’s usually pretty delicious!

Gosh… lots of food things this month. I am showing you this bag of empty cheese crunchies because I ate them all. Every last one. And then I turned the bag up to dump the crumbs in my mouth. All that to say… get some.

Have a great week, y’all!

  1. I definitely remember the pic of Whit in the store with the mittens. So stinkin’ cute! That’s back when he was referred to as “Cookie”, correct? Did you ever explain how that came to be his nickname? Also, thanks for the tip on the throat coat tea. One thing that always works miracles for us is liquid acetaminophen. Both CVS and Walgreens have their own brands in adult dose form. It does double duty in that it offers pain relief in its usual way, but then also coats your throat well, since it’s so viscous.

    1. Great tip! Yes, we still call him Cookie at home. <3 The day I brought him home from the hospital, John peeked in at him in his carrier and said "ohhhh the little cookie!" It stuck.

  2. Wow, this musings post made me hungry! It also reminded me that I need to make some hard boil eggs for breakfast tomorrow, fix a big pot of chili and buy some Trader Joe’s cheese chunchies since that is the one snack I have yet to try.

  3. I remember Whit with the mittens… and the time he didn’t have pants on! 😀 Love musings posts, always! ❤️ xo
