I can’t think of a better way to spend a sunny Southern day than berry pickin’, animal lovin’, picnicin’ and ice cream eatin’ down at the farm. So we hit the road bright and early last Tuesday to while away the day doing just that at Southern Belle Farm, just about an hour South of Atlanta.
We started out by picking two gallons of the sweetest, juiciest, most luscious strawberries that have ever crossed these lips. Mind you, quite a few crossed the lips before ever making it to our pails. But that’s half the fun of it!
Next we gave the farm animals some love, oohs, ahhs, snacks and maybe a tug of the tail here or there. Cookie must have inherited his friend of all animals mantra from his Auntie, and John wasn’t about to be shown up by little brother so he put on quite an animal loving act himself. The littles adored feeding the goats, John was just totally in awe of the egg we saw in the hen house and they were both completely rapt in the honey bee demonstration.
And after a picnic lunch, the much anticipated climax of the day was gobbling up the homemade farm fresh strawberry ice cream.
Now, that’s good, clean (and yummy) fun!

Today we celebrated Honey’s birthday! And as we have gotten older, these celebrations seemed to have evolved from where we’ll drink to where we’ll eat. That being said, we kicked off the day with Honey’s breakfast of choice – cinnamon rolls. He generally requests the Mrs. Winner’s variety (barf-o-rama), but since there isn’t one anywhere… Read More

Where would I be without you, sweet syrupy sugar water? I drank Coke in my baby bottle and never spent the night out without a can tucked away in my bag (you know, just in case my stomach hurt.) We purchase the glass bottles in bulk and every member of my family says “ahhh…” after… Read More
The PCP is just ga-ga over Scooby Doo. And it’s rubbing off on Cookie too. So, when I broke the bad no-baseball news due to fourteen stitches the other day, his eyes lit up and and he broke out in the biggest grin… “Does that mean I’ll be home for Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. at… Read More
