Welcome y’all!

I’m Amanda, a Savannah native who moved to Atlanta for college and somehow never left. Two degrees, one husband, two boys and a whole lot of life later, Atlanta is home, although Savannah will always have my heart.

I started Dixie Delights as a place to share the things that make everyday life a little more delightful, and all these years later, that is still exactly what you’ll find here. I love a beautiful home, a reason to set the table, a great hotel, a good glass of wine and celebrating absolutely anything worth celebrating. I am happiest traveling with my family, planning the next trip, hosting friends at home, playing mahjong or finding some new project to tackle.

My husband, affectionately known around here as Honey, and our two boys have been part of this blog from the beginning. The boys are certainly not “the littles” anymore, but family is still at the center of nearly everything I do and share. Some of my favorite memories have come from ordinary days at home, while plenty of others have been made with a suitcase in hand.

Dixie Travels

What began as a lifelong love of travel and Disney eventually became Dixie Travels, my travel planning business. Today, I specialize in Disney destinations, Universal Orlando, Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and luxury hotel stays.

I believe the best vacations feel effortless, but I also know how much knowledge, strategy and attention to detail can go into making them feel that way. I travel frequently to the destinations I sell, stay in the hotels, sail on the ships, eat in the restaurants and experience the parks, tours and activities firsthand. That experience allows me to give my clients thoughtful recommendations based on what I actually know, not simply what I can research online.

My clients come to me because they want an exceptional vacation without having to become the expert themselves. Whether I am planning a Walt Disney World vacation, helping a family choose the right Disney cruise or adding preferred amenities to a fabulous hotel stay, my goal is always the same: to make travel easier, more personal and more enjoyable from the very beginning.

A Little More About Me

I am an engineer by education, a planner by nature and firmly believe the details matter. I love Southern traditions, beautiful interiors, travel, entertaining, Disney, needlepoint, mahjong, the beach and any excuse to gather people I love around a table. I will almost always choose the nice hotel, have another trip on the calendar and find a reason to make an ordinary day feel a little special.

Dixie Delights has changed right along with our family over the years, and I am so grateful for the people who have continued to read, travel, celebrate and grow along with us.
