Happy Halloween!

Well, that’s a wrap on Halloween 2018.  I feel like this month flew by.

My mother in law joined me and the other room moms for Whit’s class party.  We had such a fun morning and it wasn’t a whole lot of work since we essentially re-used the entire party from John’s fourth grade year.  :-)  (also, why does he insist on wearing these shoes when there is a new pair sitting in his cubby in the garage????)

We raced home from middle school carpool later in the day to get ready for the night’s big events!  We had two hot dogs and a basketball player this year.

We went in Target a few weeks ago for flu shots and each of them got a $5 gift card (This was so much easier than going to the pediatrician and they were thrilled with their gift cards.  If you go, know that you do have to have the DR send a prescription for kids under 13.)  We were tooling around the store looking for something for them to purchase when Whit broke free and started running towards the costumes.  He had spied the hot dog hanging at the very end of a looooong aisle and said “this is the one!!!!!!!!!!!”  He then followed that up with “my only requirement is that we find something for Elsa to match.”  Thank goodness he chose a hot dog because that seems to be the easiest and cheapest dog costume around.  haha.

A mom on the lacrosse team generously offered to host a crew of boys in her neighborhood and then deliver them back home at the end of the night.  Meet Charlie Brown’s basketball team.  (His name is even Charlie!)  John had a fabulous night and said it was his best Halloween ever.

As for the rest of us, we started our night trick or treating at Honey’s mom’s house, where she encourages the boys to load up their baskets, before dropping off John.  :-)  Then we headed over to one of our neighborhood culdesacs for a pot luck dinner until dusk.  We came back over towards our house for our usual trick-or-treating loop.  We also had a great night.

I hope you and yours enjoyed a happy Halloween.  If you’ve been around here for any time at all you’ll know this means I’m moving right along to Christmas.  falalalalalalalala!!!

  1. Whit and Elsa are positively precious! Sounds like a very enjoyable Halloween – happy everyone had a great time! xo

  2. Great night!
We love getting flu shots at Target every year! I appreciate that we can do it w/o planning ahead/making an appointment/sitting in a germy waiting room; the $5 gift cards are just icing on the cake!

  3. I had no clue Target was so easy. I’ll have to look into that for next year. I ended up rescheduling our flu shot appts 3 times before my kids actually ended up getting them! Can’t wait to see your Christmas decorations!
