Eleven Years After 9.11

It’s been eleven years since the day that forever changed our country.

I’ve been struggling with how to share 9.11 with John and I just don’t think he’s ready to bear the weight of the day’s events just yet.  He’s prone to worrying and we believe that every day of blissful, childhood innocence is a gift.  So while I won’t be watching the news coverage, I will be carrying a heavy heart as the horror of watching this day unfold in 2001 is as raw today as it was then.
So very proud to be an American and so thankful for all of the men and women that bravely serve this great country.

  1. This is a sad day! I am praying that your son doesn't learn about it at school today! Last year when my son was in first grade, I was shocked when he came home knowing all about it. It was added to the public school curriculum he attended at the time. This year he is at a private school and they leave it up to the parent's at this age. Much more appropriate!

  3. It is so hard to talk about these things with your kids. Sigh. I talked about it in more detail with both my boys last year (5th and 3rd) but they had talked about it at school too. Definitely avoided all news while they were around.
