The kind folks at Spodee sent us a bottle of their “wine with a kick” to sample in conjunction with their launch in the Atlanta market. I was smitten with the branding and packaging before it was even uncapped. Spodee, inspired by a Depression era hooch, mixes homemade country wines with moonshine, chocolate, and a secret blend of spices. Today, not only is it legal, but it is brewed in Brotherhood, America’s oldest winery, and bottled in period glass milk bottles.
I held onto it for a couple of weeks, anxiously awaiting a gorgeous afternoon to mix up some libations and have a little good old fashioned porch sittin’, drink sippin’ fun!
With the gorgeous spring like days we’ve had this week, I set up a Monday afternoon cocktail hour on the porch. Honey whet his whistle with the Citrus Spritzer, while I set my sights on the Spodee Sangria. Both were scrumptious and it is quite delicious on its own, what with it’s unique and grape and chocolate flavors.
There are so many more of their recipes that we want to try! I’ll definitely be throwing some in the buggy on my next trip to the wine store (fingers crossed it has made its way to the burbs)!!

Sounds delicious! What a fun way to while away a Monday afternoon! xo
Don't suppose it's a national product vs regional?

What cute presentation! We were just in Atlanta last weekend, next time I'll have to be on the look out for some "kickin wine"!
I love how many different cocktails you can make with one bottle. Perfect for a party on the porch.
I don't drink, but that bottle is very cute!
I downloaded the April issue of BH&G last night and low and behold, I see a familiar porch and a cute young girl I immediately recognized! Congratulations on the feature -it was totally you.

I had no idea until your comment!!!! I mean they took pics last may but I had no idea if/when it would make it in :-)
Do you think you could give us a little sneak peek at your plans for April Fools? Your ideas are so fun and I need help! Thanks!
I wonder if they ship to VA? I will have to look into that!!!
