Local 11ten & Perch

It has been so gloom and doom here in Savannah today, that we called it on the parade before the sun was barely up.  So, rather than a recount of another great parade, a review of my new favorite Savannah restaurant is on tap.  Local 11 Ten, and the rooftop lounge Perch, is officially my new favorite must-eat, must-drink, must-do spot in the city!!

We started our evening sipping on cocktails under Savannah’s gorgeous live oaks in the rooftop Perch.  It has to be the city’s most serene spot – Honey proclaimed it his favorite place in the world back at Christmastime.  It’s open seasonally (but was open both at Christmas and now in March) and is well worth its very own outing.  The bar snacks are outstanding, the drinks are perfection and the atmosphere is unrivaled.

We moseyed downstairs for din din at Local 11ten after a while upstairs.  The restaurant is just a block South of Forsyth park, and is housed in the 1950’s-era Old Savannah Bank building.

We started with the mussles – which were an amazing peek at what was in store for the rest of the meal.  As the name implies, Local 11ten employs only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients.  We always relish the opportunity to nosh on fabulous seafood!!

All four of us ate off of the a la carte menu.  I chose the seared scallops, Sister and Honey the swordfish and Sister’s mister the grouper.  There is a mouth-watering selection of sauces to choose from.  We all loved the grilled lemon, garlic herb butter and spicy soy.  Each couple shared three sides – we went with the mac and cheese, potatoes and brussels sprouts.  SOOOO delish!!!  All of them.  We left completely stuffed and, sadly, had no room for dessert.

Heed this advise, my friends, and add this as a must-do on your next visit to the “Hostess City of the South”!!  See all of my Savannah favorites here!!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!

  1. Will definitely add this to the list of Must See/Do next time we are there. Which I am hoping is VERY soon (are you reading this honey???).

  2. Love Perch. Can you believe we left Perch for LuLu's Chocolate Bar when I was there in October. No comparison. I love the restaurant too. xo

  3. We thought about trying the parade, but spent the day playing arcade games and bowling instead! Hope the rain stops soon!! Dinner looks like it was delish :)

  4. Ohhhh, I will definitely add this to our list for our next trip to Savannah. Thank you for all of the wonderful suggestions….you make my vacation planning so much easier!
