Disney Pirate Adventure Cruise

I’ve tried quite a few times to get a Pirate Adventure Cruise to fit in our Disney itinerary to no avail.  But the stars aligned (and we had a whole week to work with) and the littles were beyond thrilled to voyage out into the seas on their very own adventure!

The Albatross Treasure Cruise sets sail right from Bayside Marina at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.  The pirates heard “The Legend of the Albatross” and then followed clues that led to a bountiful treasure chest.  As soon as we arrived, they were outfitted in bandannas and life jackets.

Parents aren’t allowed on this adventure, so I had to take my littles’ word for it on what they did.  One thing was evident… they had a GRAND old time!

They hunted down their treasure in an adventure that even had them disembark their ship and head INTO Epcot!!!  They were beyond excited!

Two hours later, the boat load of pirates were all smiles and songs as they pulled back into port, laden down with treasure.

Each one got their own little treasure, in addition to snacks on the boat.

They had a wonderful time and Whit in particular begged to do it again every day after!

Since I didn’t go myself, I don’t have a whole lot of details.  Here are a few pointers:

  • I highly recommend making advance reservations.
  • Kids ages 4-12 can go, as long as they are potty trained.  There were 10 kids on this voyage.  9 were boys.  2 were 9-10 years old, 1 was 4, and the other 7 were all 6-7 years old.  I would feel completely comfortable sending an only child.  The cast members were very inclusive and engaging from what I saw.
  • The whole thing takes about 2 hours.
  • There are four different versions of the cruise that leave from four different resorts.  As far as I know, this is the only one that stops in a park.

While the littles were loving this, Honey and I had the chance to linger over a long breakfast and many cups of coffee at Captain’s Grill.  It was a pretty plum morning!
xoxo

    1. I have done that but I didn’t document it. It was kind of a lot to pack for, I’m not going to lie. Of course, the last time we did that we were camping on our WDW leg so that is probably why I don’t look back on it so fondly :-)

  1. Which of the jewels the boys found will you be having set into a gorgeous piece of jewelry? As a child, I would have been thrilled with such treasures.

  2. What fun this must have been for your two adorable pirates! I know what you mean about not being able to fit things in because there is always so much to do and see and there it seems there is something new every time we visit. We have been purchasing annual passes for the past four or five years. I’m not sure what to think about the recent changes in pricing and inclusions/exclusions, black out dates, etc. As much as my family loves all things Disney and we have visited many, many times, I’m not sure what Mr. Disney would think of all that.
