I am super excited to put my sideline lacrosse cheering on hold for a day to attend the Historic Canton Tour of Homes next weekend!
For those in the metro Atlanta area, the event runs October 21 & 22 and will showcase four private homes: the Jones-Morgan home, the Sparks-Sellers home, the Satterfield home and the Jones-Johnston home. Shuttle buses will run continuously from the Cherokee County Historic Courthouse to visit all of the sites.
Located just north of Atlanta, Canton was founded in 1832 and grew quickly after the railroad came through in 1879. While downtown Canton has changed considerably during the past 100 years, the historic downtown contains 300 buildings in its National Register Historic District.
I will be attending the tour with one of my dearest friends and cannot wait to see her parent’s home (Jones-Morgan) which is on the tour. I love this family so much and have been so excited to see what they’ve done with their historic home after months of renovation. Her mom has the BEST taste (traditional, loads of blue and white, fabulous use of textures and layers, loads of tassel trims, gorgeous pillows…I could go on for days) and I have absolutely loved every single one of her homes. I can say with certainty that it’s going to be good!!
After the tour we are planning to enjoy lunch in Downtown Canton. It is bound to be the perfect ladies day out!
Tour Details:
- Friday, October 21 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm (Candlelight Tour)
- Saturday October 22, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Tickets are $20 for Historical Society members until the week of the tour; $25 for non-members. They may be purchased online at www.rockbarn.org, or by calling 770.345.3288. All proceeds benefit the Cherokee County Historical Society and will be used for education and outreach programs.

I went on the candlelight tour last night and the Jones-Morgan house is spectacularl! I admire the exterior every time I drive past, so it was such a treat to see the interior. Enjoy!!
