I am so excited for Disney*Pixar’s holiday-time movie – COCO – to hit theaters on the day before Thanksgiving!
Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
In anticipation of COCO, I’ve got two fun activity sheets for the older kids – the first is a maze and the second is instructions for making a hexaflexagon – and two coloring sheets for the younger ones.

The other super exciting news around COCO is that the show will kick off with Disney Animation’s new featurette ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’!!! The 21-minute featurette will showcase four new original songs and brings the original cast and characters back to the big screen. Olaf is on a mission to harness the best holiday traditions for Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.
Both COCO and Olaf’s Frozen Adventure are sure to be beautiful, heartfelt films about families and how people carry traditions forward. I think they sound like the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!

DIXIE DELIGHTS DELIVERED
We recently saw Coco star, Selene Luna do her stand up routine. It was funny, but not “Disney audience” approved at all. She said this is the first ever full length feature film to have an entirely Hispanic cast. I thought that was pretty cool.
I think it’s really cool too. I love that Disney is branching out from the white, whispy, someday my prince will come princesses. Although I do love the classics <3
