Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Resort is a long time favorite for breakfast and dinner. Located on the upper level of the resort lobby, this relaxed café infuses a bit of Asian zest into traditional American meals.

I know Ohana has a cult-like following for breakfast, but my family is not a crazy fan. For a much better (and cheaper) breakfast, do Kona Cafe!!  Our favorite order includes a shared a french press pot of Kona Coffee and Tonga Toast. In fact, my earliest Disney memories include sitting in this very restaurant enjoying that very meal!

Dinners here are equally as tasty, and it is one of our favorite places to find sushi at Disney. The potstickers, burgers and dashi bowls are also fantastic.

We typically forego dessert from the menu in favor of a Dole Whip from the Pineapple Lanai while watching fireworks from the Seven Seas Lagoon. Talk about a magical Disney night!

You can read my full review of Disney’s Polynesian Resort here. It is the resort I book most frequently for clients, right after Grand Floridian. We absolutely love it there – I have for over 40 years – and cannot wait to be “home” again soon.

Stay tuned for more information on the full reopening of Disney World theme parks and resorts. Disney Springs opens on May 20. Remember, the Four Keys to Disney’s success are: SAFETY, courtesy, show and efficiency – always in that order. I trust that when Disney reopens, however different it may look from what we have previously experienced, it will be SAFE above all else. This is why I believe in Disney, why I specialize in Disney travel and why I continue to take my family to Disney destinations year after year after year. I am currently booking Disney World vacations for arrivals July 1 – December 31, 2020 and have a wait list for 2021!
