Magic is Here {Hollywood Studios}

I’m wrapping up our trip report covering the reopening of Walt Disney World in Hollywood Studios. This park has undergone a radical transformation in recent years with the additions of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. There is so much to do and see here!

I shared countless examples of the way that Disney examined every step of the guest experience with a lens of health and safety. All of the new policies and precautions are flawlessly integrated and make it easy to have a fun and memorable vacation experience. You can catch up on all of that here:

Disney Characters

Disney characters are alive and abundant in the parks! We were charmed by their spontaneous appearances – in their “lands”, in character cavalcades, and when we least expected them! You can see Mickey and friends, the Incredibles and the Toy Story gang in cavalcades throughout the park. We focused on the Star Wars crew in Galaxy’s Edge. We loved seeing them work on their space craft and patrol Batuu.

Hollywood Studios Attractions

Hollywood Studios is going to be your longest park day, with all of the new attractions! Even through it’s a full day, you can still accomplish 2-3 times the amount of attractions than you previously could with the FastPass system. We also took an afternoon break and had two great meals on our full day!

Hollywood & Sunset Boulevards

The rage of Hollywood Boulevard is the brand new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! This attraction was open for mere days before the parks shut down. We were thrilled to be among the first to get to ride! This attraction will be your longest wait in all of the parks but is worth it!

Over on Sunset Boulevard, I took advantage of extremely low wait times to do both Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster… alone! My family won’t do these and I previously hated to make them wait on me for 60-90 minutes so I just skipped them. They had a cold drink in a relaxation station while I did both of these in about 30 minutes tops!

Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is yet another great example of being able to do it all! Not to mention, the low crowds mean you can take time to soak in the darling details… like Andy’s footprints walking through the land!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Where to even start here?! First, there are more characters out in their “natural habitats” than ever before. Like in Toy Story Land, we loved being able to really see and appreciate the details here.

For Rise of the Resistance, you will still need a boarding pass. That cuts down on waits, but you can’t be guaranteed to ride. The process is the same as before.

For Millennium Falcon, that is a walk on or short wait! The beautiful thing is that it’s one party per ride so you are guaranteed to have 2 pilots in your group!! It’s so neat!

Hollywood Studios Dining

I covered off on safety protocols for dining, and will follow up with full reviews. We enjoyed being back at our favorites, including…

Docking Bay 7

Hollywood Brown Derby

Oga’s Cantina

Let’s Travel & My Services

I have enjoyed hearing from all of you in Instagram and now on the blog… those ready to book a new trip, those that had decided to go on trips already booked and those that aren’t ready to travel but enjoyed having a little magic in their feed.

If you’d like to see videos, photos and my explanations of both safety and magic at Walt Disney World, head over to the Dixie Travels Instagram. Once on my profile page, look for the circles called “highlights”. Safety protocols are primarily captured under “wdw reopens” and then you can click on the circle for each park to see the magic!

We were absolutely blown away by the thoughtful, practical and comprehensive precautions Disney has in place to safely welcome guests and cast members. I don’t have all of the words to convey how special it felt to be back. We laughed, we played, we ate too much, and we felt a level of happiness we hadn’t had in too long. I can assure you, magic is here!

I have missed my job so, so much over the past four months and am thrilled to be back in the business of making magic! Most aspects of planning a Disney vacation look different and now, more than ever, it is crucial to have the most current, up to date information based on personal experience to plan your vacation!  I know these parks inside and out and am a small, one woman show. I hope that my love and passion for Disney shows through in every photo, video and post.

When the time is right for your family to travel, I’d be honored to be YOUR advisor. Magic is here!

Have a wonderful weekend!
