The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant & Patio Lounge In Disney’s Hollywood Studios

A step inside Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is to travel back in time to the Golden Age of Hollywood. This signature dining location inside of Hollywood Studios theme parks is one of our favorites! We try not to let a trip pass without a visit.

This authentic replica of the famous Brown Derby, a Tinseltown landmark steeped in glamour and glitz, has walls are adorned with caricatures of famous faces. Inside you feel a world away from the theme park. While kids are certainly welcome at Hollywood Brown Derby, we are also completely comfortable dining here with just adults.

Hollywood Brown Derby Dining Room

There are quite a few signature items on the menu. My personal favorite is the Cobb Salad – following the recipe created by Bob Cobb who owned the historic California Brown Derby – and tossed table-side! It is sensational with a cold glass of sauvignon blanc. Other items they are known for are the cioppino, filet and Grapefruit Cake (which I also LOVE)!

Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge Patio

While we do love dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby, we find ourselves with a more casual meal on the patio more often than not! I absolutely love scoring a walk up spot on ANY park day. My “usual” order is the margarita trio and cobb salad. Honey likes to get the sliders here, and Sister recently ordered the shrimp and grits which was divine.

If you go:

  • The patio is small and first come first serve. You cannot make a reservation to eat here.
  • Check in on the bar side with the bar tender first. Do not just take a seat.
  • Children are welcome here, as well as inside, but most of the tables are bar height.
  • I recommend heading to the patio when they open. You can check the hours on the sign outside in the morning to be sure.

Located at the end of Hollywood Boulevard, next to Sunset, this is the most charming spot in the park.

Walt Disney World Reopening

Disney World reopened on July 11 and we spent nine days back in the parks in July. We were absolutely blown away by the thoughtful, practical and comprehensive precautions Disney has in place to safely welcome guests and cast members. I don’t have all of the words to convey how special it felt to be back. We laughed, we played, we ate too much, and we felt a level of happiness we hadn’t had in too long. I can assure you, magic is here!

If you’d like to see videos, photos and my explanations of both safety and magic at Walt Disney World, head over to the Dixie Travels Instagram. Once on my profile page, look for the circles called “highlights”. Safety protocols are primarily captured under “wdw reopens” and then you can click on the circle for each park to see the magic! I have also chronicled our experiences in these blog posts:
