The holidays are a BIG deal and Disney and we always looked forward to Halloween and Christmas in previous years. I must say, we felt ALL of the Halloween magic this week. We absolutely cannot wait to see how Disney celebrates Christmas around the parks and resorts. There is still time to plan an incredible trip and put a little magic back in 2020!
Magic Kingdom Halloween
Walking into Magic Kingdom, you will immediately notice the fall decor all down Main Street, and the spooky music interspersed with the usual Disney classics.
As the sun sets over the park, the lights come on and the castle eerily glows in the distance. In my opinion, this is the MOST magical time in the park!
The Main Street shop windows are full of Halloween charm, while the buildings are adorned with fall buntings florals.
Magic Kingdom Halloween Character Cavlacades
Character cavalcades and pop-up greetings have replaced the traditional afternoon parade, and they are AMAZING! For Halloween, Disney introduced four new cavalcades that you will find all day long to your surprise and delight. It is like being in a Not So Scary Halloween Party, but during regular hours and without a separate $110+ ticket!
Pooh and Friends in Costume
Boo To You
This is a favorite, with the catchy Boo to You song and classic characters in their darling costumes!
Nightmare Before Christmas
Jack, Sally and Oogie Boogie are super rare characters to see in the parks, and have lines upwards of 2 hours to meet them on the old party nights! Seeing them float through the park to their “This is Halloween” theme is so fantastic. We even saw them on a drizzly day with their clear umbrellas!
Disney Villains
You know this villainous crew is coming when you hear the music change to “It’s Good to be Bad”! This is another rare group of characters that you almost never see out and about. Now, you can find them all day long.
Throughout the day you will find a variety of characters waving and posing for pictures with friends in their Halloween costumes, as well as the Cadaver Dans riding down Main Street.
Halloween Magic Shots
With your PhotoPass purchase, you will find a variety of Halloween inspired MagicShots around Magic Kingdom! You can always ask the photographer if they have anything special and then enjoy the surprise when your pictures load to your account.
Haunted Mansion
It goes without saying that no trip is complete without a doombuggy tour on Haunted Mansion. Of course, at Halloween this is an absolute MUST!
Halloween Treats
All of the parks and resorts have special Halloween treats on the menu! You can order many via the Mobile Order button on the Disney app, so be sure to check that section while in the parks.

We were among the first guests to experience the reopened Minnie’s Seasonal Dine at Hollywood & Vine! The restaurant kicked things off celebrating in Halloween style with darling outfits and spooky music throughout the dinner experience.
