Crystal Palace in Disney’s Magic Kingdom

At the risk of getting my Disney card revoked, I am going to admit this…. never had I ever dined at the iconic Main Street eatery, Crystal Palace, until last month!

Inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s, The Crystal Palace brims with light, topiaries and tropical palms. And, who doesn’t love a place where every day is Friendship Day?!

It’s an enchanting spot to dine in the heart of Magic Kingdom park with views of Cinderella Castle and Main Street, U.S.A.

Friends the Hundred-Acre Wood can be found in topiary form! Aren’t they the cutest?

Many probably remember Crystal Palace as buffet. These days, the restaurant is home to a pre-fixe menu with family style starters and desserts and the choice of individual entrees.

The dining experience begins with a seasonal salad and homestyle biscuits. Add mimosas if you are celebrating Friendship Day like we were. :-) Most of us chose the crispy fried chicken with honey pot drizzle and it was delicious. I don’t eat food on bones and they were so kind as to bring me a whole plate with just breasts. Other members of my party enjoyed the catfish and southern fried cauliflower!

Dessert was almost too darling to eat, inspired by Pooh, Tigger and friends.

I don’t know what took me so long to eat here, but the meal was absolutely delicious!!! I enjoyed every part of it! Of course, the company was as good as the food, service and sun-filled dining room.

My family has taken five trips to the most magical place on earth since the reopening – 9 days in July, 10 days in September/October, 7 days over Thanksgiving, 5 days in January and 6 days in February!  We continue to be blown away by the thoughtful, practical and comprehensive precautions Disney has in place to safely welcome guests and cast members. I don’t have all of the words to convey how special it felt to be back. We laughed, we played, we ate too much, and we felt a level of happiness we hadn’t had in too long. I can assure you, magic is there!

  1. Oh, I love the Crystal Palace! I ate there the very first time I went to Disney World back in the 1980s, with my grandparents. Now it’s a must-do.
    Glad you finally tried it!

  2. Are you sure we didn’t eat there when we were little??? I think I have a very old picture of us with Marm sitting on one of the white benches outside…
