It has been a number of years since we last dined at the fan favorite Liberty Tree Tavern in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. There are SO many delicious restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort, that it sometimes takes years to circle back to repeats.
The colonial-style inn is perfectly suited for this location in the park, and absolutely reminded us of the taverns we enjoyed in Colonial Williamsburg.
You will enjoy a classic American meal in one of 6 historically themed rooms. Rich wood paneling, candelabra chandeliers, large brick fireplaces, and walls lined with period portraits and curios welcome the weary time traveler. Each of the 6 rooms commemorates a pivotal figure in U.S. history:
- Benjamin Franklin
- Thomas Jefferson
- John Paul Jones
- Paul Revere
- Betsy Ross
- George Washington
Be sure to wander the rooms and see if you can spot the signature artifacts famously associated with each American hero.
Every day is Thanksgiving Day at Liberty Tree Tavern. You will enjoy a full-on feast at both lunch and dinner, including the all-you-care-to-enjoy Patriot’s Platter, piled high with roasted turkey breast, pot roast and oven-roasted pork, and accompanied by traditional sides. Everyone in my party agreed… the meal was delicious!
For a sweet finish befitting a folk hero, do not miss the Ooey Gooey toffee cake with Chocolate Sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Liberty Tree Tavern stands as a solid choice for sit down dining in Magic Kingdom. Luckily, it isn’t too terribly hard to score a reservation and they do have larger table sizes than most other dining establishments!
