The Plaza Restaurant in Disney’s Magic Kingdom

The Plaza Restaurant in Disney’s Magic Kingdom is charming, often overlooked spot. I love the location, right on Main Street overlooking the castle, and the early 20th-century style atmosphere.

You enter The Plaza Restaurant right in front of the charming yellow umbrellas where Main Street meets the castle hub. All seating is located inside, with these tables simply for walk up enjoyment of quick serve food or just to relax and take it all in. This is where you will find me, coffee in hand, on most Magic Kingdom mornings!

Inside, the restaurant is tiny, which can make it difficult to score an advance dining reservation. The Plaza Restaurant serves lunch and dinner at this time. The menu is small, simple and all-American.

My favorite menu items are the wedge salad and plaza burger. My boys love the loaded fries, club, meatloaf and cheese steak too! No matter what, we always end the meal with a sundae from the ice cream shop next door!

When the rain came on this particular afternoon, we ducked inside the Plaza with a walk-up reservation for two. It is always worth asking if they have a table by the window. Being cozied up inside with a cold glass of prosecco and these views was pretty magical.

My family has taken five trips to the most magical place on earth since the reopening – 9 days in July, 10 days in September/October, 7 days over Thanksgiving, 5 days in January and 6 days in February!  We continue to be blown away by the thoughtful, practical and comprehensive precautions Disney has in place to safely welcome guests and cast members. I don’t have all of the words to convey how special it felt to be back. We laughed, we played, we ate too much, and we felt a level of happiness we hadn’t had in too long. I can assure you, magic is there!
