Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

I am so excited to share our recent experience at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! It has been a number of years since we last enjoyed this ’50s-style dinner and a show, and we LOVED it just as much as we remembered.

On arrival, it feels as if you’re headed through a Hollywood-style sound stage with exposed wood, beams and pulleys.

Inside you will be in awe of a sky full of twinkling stars, the automo-booths and tables, and illuminated tail lights of your fellow drive-in diners. It’s Disney theming and attention to detail at its best!

It’s always showtime inside where thrilling, chilling sci-fi scenes cycle through on the big screen. Think attacking aliens, marauding mummies, rampaging robots and more. My boys have never found this particularly scary, but they were watching Scooby Doo before Whit could talk. :-)

The menu features all-American cuisine and we all enjoyed our lunch – Pan Seared Chicken Pasta and Classic American Burger.

We shared two entrees between the three of us so we had room for the star of the show… the Oreo Cookie Milkshake. It was every bit as delicious as we had hoped!

Road-ready picnic tables are located at the back of the theater, where there’s even an old-fashioned, drive-in-style concession stand!

If you aren’t in need of a meal with characters on your Hollywood Studios day, I think this is a fun option for families with older kids or adults! It just feels special and is uniquely Disney! Reservations here are extremely hard to find and parties of more than 6 should scratch this off their list. :-)

My family has taken five trips to the most magical place on earth since the reopening – 9 days in July, 10 days in September/October, 7 days over Thanksgiving, 5 days in January and 6 days in February!  We continue to be blown away by the thoughtful, practical and comprehensive precautions Disney has in place to safely welcome guests and cast members. I don’t have all of the words to convey how special it felt to be back. We laughed, we played, we ate too much, and we felt a level of happiness we hadn’t had in too long. I can assure you, magic is there!
