Remy Restaurant: Disney Cruise Line Fine French Dining

I’m still flying high from my Disney Cruise last month. I honestly do not have all the right words to convey how magical, special, fun and relaxing it felt to be back on board. In fact, I raved about it so much that my parents are at sea right this very moment! I am living vicariously through all of their texts and photos.

Everything Disney Cruise Line

I’ve cruised with Disney ten times and there are still new things to see, do and experience. On the Dream last month, Cara and I had the pleasure of dining in Remy. It was my first time for dinner and boy was it amazing! An adult-exclusive restaurant serving fine French fare, Remy offers the most luxurious dinner experience on board.

Dining at Remy is like being transported to an authentic fine-dining restaurant in the City of Lights. Reminiscent of the well-appointed dining rooms of Chef Arnaud’s native Paris, Remy is softly lit and designed in a timeless art nouveau style featuring soft greens, rich reds and gold tones. Graceful, sinuous lines adorn the chairs, glass carvings and wall etchings, as sweeping floral and leaf designs embellish the carpet and lighting.

Adding to the sophisticated ambience, tables are set with Frette linens, Riedel glassware, Christofle silverware and china created exclusively for the restaurant.

For an added dollop of Disney magic, Remy—the character from the hit Disney·Pixar film Ratatouille—appears in artful ways throughout the restaurant’s design, such as on chair backs, in lighting and on the uphostery.

Dinner begins with a complimentary “Collette,” a chilled Champagne cocktail prepared at your table. It was absolutely delicious and my favorite cocktail I enjoyed on board.

A quick glance at the seasonal menu reveals Chef Arnaud’s culinary influence throughout, with multiple tasting courses celebrating the sea, the earth and fresh ingredients culled from the world market. Artfully prepared dishes include such delicacies as langoustine, duck, elk, sablefish and Kobe beef. Guests also get to enjoy the global offerings of a gourmet cheese trolley, an extensive wine menu and after-dinner coffee service.

Castaway Club members may recall that Remy was a prix fixe experience. We were delighted to learn they now offer an a la carte menu in addition to the prix fixe option. We chose the a la carte option and were able to enjoy delicious dishes, a lower price point overall, AND we didn’t feel completely gorged after a 3-hour meal. Everything was exceptionally beautiful and absolutely scrumptious.

Cara told me they would bring truffles for dessert but I couldn’t resist talking her into ordering off the menu. Extra dessert is never a bad idea.

Advance reservations are required and a strict dress code is in place. I do not have one bad thing to say about this dining experience, and I cannot wait to bring Honey back when we cruise on the Disney Wish next summer!

  1. our 15th cruise is coming up on October 8. we prefer Palos to Remy simply put. we sailed on the fantasy a year ago last February, palos was the winner hands down. we so enjoy sailing on Disney, no other cruise line compares to Disney. You get what you pay for.
