It’s been a long time since I had the pleasure of eating at Boma Flavors of Africa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. It’s pretty out of the way unless you are staying there, but it is one I make a point to enjoy when I am!
Boma is located on the lower level of the lobby, down the staircase past Victoria Falls Lounge in a tucked away location.
Here, under thatched roofs, you will savor vibrant flavors from over 50 African countries—along with favorite American classics.
Boma was the first buffet to return to Disney World. I hear from clients often that they don’t like buffets. I don’t love them either, to be frank. But, Boma is special enough that I can completely overlook that!
The dining room is spacious and well themed. Windows overlook greenery and the walkway between the resort and pool.
Breakfast is my favorite meal here! Start your day with a cup of full-bodied Kenyan AA coffee, tropical juice and a bountiful buffet. Selections include made-to-order omelets, French toast bread pudding, pastries, carved ham, fresh fruit and turkey bobotie—a type of South African quiche.
And let’s not overlook the Mickey AND Simba waffles!
At dinner, watch chefs prepare Oak roasted meats, vegetarian specialties, coastal seafood dishes, fresh salads and house-baked pastries in the onstage kitchen. Kids can enjoy options like chicken nuggets, while Guests 21 years of age and up delight in unique South African wines—many of which are available by the glass.
