Blue Bayou Fantasmic Dining Package in Disneyland Park

Blue Bayou has been a must-visit destination for many Disneyland Resort guests since its opening in 1967. Its mystical setting takes you into the heart of the South—overhead strings of colorful balloon lanterns cast an enchanting glow, dotting the darkness while crickets chirp, frogs croak and fireflies wink in the dark.

I absolutely love the ambiance inside, where it is perpetual twilight. We were thrilled to get table right on the water, watching guests on the Pirates of the Caribbean sail down the bayou.

Whit kicked off his meal with a Mint Julep.

The dining package is a prix-fixe 3-course meal. Everything was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Be sure to save some room for dessert—our favorites were the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake exclusive to the dining package.

Tickets for Fantasmic! are presented at the end of your meal. That evening your return to see the show from reserved seating. This is a wonderful show, featuring stunning effects, thrilling stunts, dazzling pyrotechnics and rousing music. The projections are painted on a grand canvas of dancing water and light.

As the story goes, fast asleep, Mickey Mouse dreams that he is a mighty sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color and magic. The Disney Villains—including Maleficent in the form of a towering, 40-foot-tall dragon—turn Mickey’s dream into a nightmare, but don’t underestimate the power of Mickey’s imagination!

The grand finale lights up the sky with lasers and fireworks!

After Fantasmic! we stayed in place for Wonderous Journeys. To be honest, I didn’t love this vantage point. It was fine since we were already here, but I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise.
