Disney100 Celebration at the Disneyland Resort

The dazzling 100th anniversary celebration of The Walt Disney Company kicked off at the Disneyland Resort in January. A host of new experiences and entertainment debuted at The Happiest Place on Earth in honor of the milestone anniversary.

Sleeping Beauty Castle’s Disney100 look as her 6th(!) castle repaint, each one stunning and uniquely tailored to Disneyland and The Walt Disney Company’s magical milestones.

Main Street USA

You will see buntings, decor and celebratory plantings down Main Street USA.

New Mickey and Minnie statues are found on Main Street.

Characters

Mickey and the gang have dazzling 100th outfits for the anniversary celebration! You can find these friends walking all around Main Street USA.

They sometimes stop for photos, but are often just roaming for amazing, special encounters.

Mickey’s Toontown

Welcome Fun & All! A reimagined Mickey’s Toontown starts a new era of ways families and young children can play together! The land is absolutely ADORABLE and a must visit for kids of all ages.

At this animated neighborhood, families can explore, play, discover and unwind together while enjoying new interactive experiences, returning familiar favorites and the recently debuted attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway!

At the transformed Mickey’s Toontown, you get to play in your own way. The environment and experiences in this land were designed to allow guests to see, hear, feel and interact with one another in various ways. Walt Disney Imagineering also thoughtfully designed the reimagined land to try to remove as many barriers to play as possible, with more open green spaces for gathering and play. Let’s explore!

CenTOONial Park is the first space you’ll see when you enter the land. CenTOONial Park is anchored by two new interactive play experiences: a beautiful fountain featuring water tables designed for play that invite you to have a sensory experience, plus a nearby dreaming tree with sculpted tree roots for children to crawl around and explore.

Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard incorporates a whimsical sound garden where kids can discover new ways to make wacky noises, as well as an all-new, elevated clubhouse. Inside Goofy’s House, you can help operate a fun, interactive candy-making contraption that only Goofy could imagine.

Donald’s Duck Pond will help little ones get the wiggles out and make a splash. Perched in the duck pond, Donald’s Boat is surrounded by larger-than-life spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys. Explorers can look into the boat’s portholes to witness bubbles of fun inside featuring familiar ducklings Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby.

You can go nuts on Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGET coaster, a one-of-a-kind, fun-sized coaster created by the resident tinkerer of Mickey’s Toontown, Gadget Hackwrench.

Two all-new dining locations serve colorful comfort foods and scrumptious snacks. Café Daisy serves up playful spins on diner classics. The Good Boy! Grocers farmers market stand offers grab-and-go drinks, snacks and novelties.

A highlight for me is stepping inside the house of Minnie Mouse! It is just as precious and interactive as the rest of Toontown, and you just might meet her here too.

Mickey’s house is right next door! You don’t want to miss this!

The other residents of Toontown can also be found out and about!

Mickey &  Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a family friendly romp through a cartoon world featuring your favorite characters. Disneyland’s version boasts an incredible new queue celebrating decades of Mickey magic. Inside, you’ll be able to explore the Toontown Hysterical Society’s Mickey Through the Ears exhibit, featuring costumes, props, and hidden details from Mickey history. Some favorite pieces include the gigantic vine from Mickey and the Beanstalk (currently still growing through the roof of the El CapiTOON), Scrooge McDuck’s record keeping book from Mickey’s Christmas Carol (featuring the names of many cast and crew members from the film), and a collection of Disney Afternoon-inspired candies in the concession stand.

World of Color – ONE

Disney California Adventure lights up after dark with this beloved spectacular, arguably the best nighttime show in any theme park. It is a beautiful show with an inspiring message that every single one of us can make a difference. You see it in characters like Remy, Moana, Mirabel, and Luke Skywalker, and in the end, guests are left with a call to action: You can be the one.

Wondrous Journeys

Disney100 Celebration brings an all-new spectacular, Wondrous Journey. The show features nods to every Walt Disney Animation Studios film over the last century, including the upcoming animated feature, Wish. Each primary viewing area in the park is customized for a unique experience, using the park’s state-of-the-art projection effects to turn Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas. On select nights, Wondrous Journeys goes even bigger with the addition of sparkling fireworks.

The Disney Gallery Presents: Disney 100 Years of Wonder

This all-new exhibit inside the Main Street Opera House is inspired by Walt’s dream for Disneyland to be a place where his films come to life! The gallery pays tribute to Disney films that became Disneyland Resort attractions and park experiences that later inspired Disney films.

Magic Happens Parade

With a wave of his wand, Mickey Mouse leads a cavalcade of fabulous floats, whimsically costumed performers and popular Disney pals around the park and into your hearts—all while moving to a high-energy contemporary musical score that puts a spin on classic Disney hits.

Watch Moana ride the crest of a beautiful wave in her voyager canoe, followed by Coco’s guitar-strumming Miguel joined by his dog Danté and other fantastical spirit animals and behold the enchanted forest from Frozen 2 as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven pass by. The parade’s grand finale commemorates memorable moments from Disney classics in an incredible procession that’s not to be missed!
