Sanaa Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: Kidani Village

With it’s sweeping savanna views and delicious menu, Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: Kidani Village has been a favorite for my family for over a decade.

We always arrive early to spend a half hour or so out on the savanna enjoying the animals and views. There are rocking chairs and you will often find animal specialists out to add context, point out often overlooked things, and answer any questions. Not all tables will have a view of the savanna, so coming early to see the animals was particularly helpful when my boys were little.

Inside this exquisite, East African-inspired eatery, evokes a traditional spice market, decorated with handcrafted wares under the graceful branches of an acacia tree. Outside the floor to ceiling arched windows, exotic animals roam the Sunset Savanna before you, including gazelles, zebras, giraffes, kudu, ostriches, cranes and more!

Kuamsha Breakfast

Sanaa offers two distinct dining services. Kuamsha Breakfast is a casual quick-service offering that does not require reservations. Here, you can order at the bar and sink your teeth into a carnivorous meal of house-made boerewors sausage, bacon, eggs, and African home fries. We thoroughly enjoyed this delicious meal every morning of our most recent stay! Our favorites:

  • Shahi Tukra French Toast – Saffron-scented Sultan Raisins, Whipped Chai Cream, and Almonds
  • Methi Paratha Sandwich – Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes Masala, Gouda, Chermoula, and Papaya Achar

For an even quicker option before you journey out to the great beyond, load up on high-energy grab ’n’ go options like yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, banana bread with chocolate hazelnut spread, breakfast cereals and more.

Sanaa Lunch & Dinner

Lunch and dinner at Sanna are table-service experiences with reservations being highly recommended and sought after. Here, you will savor slow-cooked meats, salads and vegetarian specialties as you discover African cooking with Indian flavors.

I always recommend starting your meal with Indian-style bread service with 9 accompaniments, from sweet mango chutney to spicy red chile sambal. This is such a unique and delicious offering that isn’t to be missed!

For your entrée, select from tender meats and seafood slow-cooked in gravy—such as butter chicken—as well as vegetarian dishes. A range of sampler platters lets you choose a variety of flavors, and kid-friendly fare like fish, beef burgers, and pizza is sure to please even the pickiest of palates. On this particular visit, there were just two of us and we knew the bread service would be quite filling. We decided to split a bowl of the tomato soup, which is absolutely delicious and one of our favorite dishes at Disney. We added the Zanzibari Vegetable Curry to our order to split as well. It was fresh, beautiful and yummy!

Pair your meal with wine from South Africa, beer from Kenya and specialty cocktails like the Malawi Mango Margarita. You can also enjoy refreshing non-alcoholic choices that include tropical juice and berry smoothies.

For guests staying at Kidani Village, we also love the Sanaa Lounge, where you can pick up a delicious cocktail and nosh on the full bread services. Some items may also be available to order for pick-up on the Disney World app!

  1. Your comprehensive reviews and suggestions are always appreciated, Amanda. What “early” time do you recommend that one should arrive for good savannah seating? Thank you, in advance. 🙂

  2. I’m not sure if my last response went through and am just curious what “early” time you recommend that one arrive for the best savannah seating. Thank you!

    1. A late breakfast is easiest! For lunch or dinner its really luck of the draw. I meant that we arrive early to go out on the savanna and see the animals so we don’t have to worry so much about where our table is once we are seated. We’ve already seen them! xo

  3. Thank you for the tip. Now, if someone would just bring the bread service and tomato soup to my home today I’d be all set today! 😀 Happy spring, Amanda! 🐥🦋🐸🪴
