Prima Notte at Palo on Disney Cruise Line

Prima Notte at Palo is a relatively new offering at our favorite adult-exclusive restaurant available fleet wide on Disney Cruise Line! Offered only on embarkation day, Prima Notte offers guests the chance to “savor an exquisite tasting of fine Italian wines complimented with a curated selection of bite-size delicacies.”

The experience begins with a glass of Bellavista Alma Gran Cuvée Brut ($63/bottle) to enjoy as guests are checked in and seated.

At the start of the tasting you hear from the Palo sommelier and chef, who introduce you to each wine and food pairing. I found this to be a more elevated experience overall, compared to other adult beverage tastings offered onboard.

The second paring consisted of a Chardonnay from Planeta ($95/bottle) paired with Sliced Herbed Yellowfin Tuna and Biscotti di Regina. The presentation of every small plate was beautiful and done with such care. This was my favorite pairing!

Next, we were served one of our Palo favorites – the gnocchi with pine nuts and a basil pesto Prosecco wine sauce. This plate was paired with a Chianti Classico Riserva ($64/bottle).

Honey’s favorite pairing was up next. This was a Snake River Farm Wagyu and Tenuta Luce 2019 ($125/bottle), a Tuscan Merlot and Sangiovese red blend.

The final offering of the evening was a blood orange chocolate mousse served atop a dusted chocolate disc, . The dessert wine paired with the decaent chocolate was Florus Moscadello di Montalcino Late Harvest ($65/bottle).

At the end of the experience, each guest is given a pin!

Overall, this was a really special and delicious experience to share with John. He was just in awe of the food, his sips of wine and the service. All of the wait staff went out of their way to see how he liked it, and all remembered him when dined here later in the cruise. It was sweet and, again, just special.

Prima Notte is available to guests 21+ unless sailing from European port in which it is 18+. This is how John was able to join us! The experience is pricey at $85 per person, and is offered only on embarkation night. Our dinner seating immediately followed and I was pretty full. The guys still ate. Prima Notte is not intended to take the place of a dinner. While we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, dinner is a better value, just as lovely and definitely as tasty. We won’t do it again in the near future, as there is so much to do and experience on Disney Cruise Line!
