Named after the signature long poles used by gondoliers in Venice, Palo serves an adult-exclusive restaurant serving Italian fare in an intimate setting. It is our favorite of the adult restaurants across the fleet.
Bedecked in royal tones of wine and gold, the atmosphere at Palo is both upscale and romantic. The ambiance is refined aboard the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, where Palo is home to inlaid wood paneling with gold-colored embellishments, a backlit bar and sophisticated paintings inspired by the canals of Venice adorning the walls.
Best of all, Palo boasts ocean views from nearly every table, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and the dining room’s semi-circular design. Aboard the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, you have the option to dine al fresco—and bask in the fresh ocean breezes—on the private outdoor teak deck.
Palo Brunch
Palo is such a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship. The setting is beautiful, the ocean views sweeping, the service spectacular and the food delicious. Brunch is my absolute favorite – even more so than dinner – and I was so excited to share the experience with our newly minted adult.
Brunch starts with a complimentary champagne or mimosa. There is a full bar available, and a host of delicious specialty cocktails.
The meal then moves to a first course of pastries, and your choice of a seafood or meat starter. We love to do one of each. Their almond croissant is one of my favorite things ever!
Palo offers a prix fixe and a la carte menu. I’ve done both but prefer a la carte so I can enjoy my favorites. I chose my usuals – chicken parmesan and lasagna. Do not miss those two dishes – they are EXCELLENT! If I had to choose one, it would be the lasagna. John went with the Mickey waffle and sirloin steak while Honey chose the benedict and pancakes. Everyone raved about their choices!
For desert we enjoyed the chocolate lava cake. Divine. Our waiter treated us to the Panna Cotta in celebration of John’s first Palo brunch! It was lovely!
Palo Dinner
While brunch is my favorite, I love dinner almost as much! We did both on the Dream this summer. In seven nights, you really get to enjoy all the things. John was back in tow – never one to miss a new experience or a good meal.
I started with a limoncello cocktail. I loved it!
Then, your dining experience begins with an amuse bouche and bread.
We added the calamari, which is my favorite presentation of this dish anywhere.
Like at brunch, you can do a la carte or prix fixe. Again, I do prix fixe. We chose the agnolotti and gnocci – the two stars of the pasta options.
For our second course we did the scallops and dover sole. The scallops are delicious, but the fish is next level. We added on potatoes and mac and cheese at John’s request. Both were excellent.
Don’t sleep on the chocolate souffle for dessert. Scrumptious.
