We fell in love with Disney’s water parks when the boys were both in elementary school and proved themselves to be strong swimmers on summer swim team. Over the years we’ve spent so many happy days here during our Disney vacations. On our 9 day fall break trip, we spent TWO glorious days at Typhoon Lagoon!
My, how time flies!
Disney legend purports a tycoon wreaking havoc upon the formerly pristine tropical paradise that is now known as Typhoon Lagoon. Boats, fishing gear and beach wear is strewn about and left in the sometimes odd places where the storm flung them. From the “Miss Tilly” shrimp boat precariously perched atop Mount Mayday to the bells of watch sound, the park is done up in the magical way that only Disney can do.
Typhoon Lagoon Water Slides
There isn’t any need for strategy or over thinking the water park. Show up, drop your stuff and work clockwise around the park from wherever you start.
Typhoon Lagoon Lazy River and Pools
When you’re done with the slides, spend the rest of your day alternating between the lazy river… (crazy river if you have kids)
… and in the huge wave pool. It makes giant waves and is really only suitable for strong swimmers.
There are also a few spots with smaller slides and more relaxed swimming areas but, overall, I don’t recommend the water park with toddlers or early elementary aged children.
Typhoon Lagoon Food & Beverage
Be sure to try two of our favorite Disney snacks, only available at the water parks! Mini donuts and the ice cream pail!
There is quick serve food readily available, and there are a few bars for adults.
Typhoon Lagoon Beachcomber Shacks
Renting a Beachcomber Shack is a great way for your group to relax together during your day of fun! Each Beachcomber Shack Deluxe can accommodate up to 12 Guests and includes the following amenities:
- Cushioned seating for up to 8 Guests
- Towels
- A locker
- Cold water, available all day
- Souvenir refillable mugs, which can be refilled at Disney water parks with complimentary soda and water on the day of your Beachcomber Shack rental
- Fan
- Outlet
Attendants are on hand to help you get the most out of the water park. And when you’re craving a meal or snack, they can take your order for food and beverages by text and deliver it right back to you (separate dining charges apply).
Of course, I secure the cabana reservations for my clients!
2025 Walt Disney World guests will receive free water park admission on their arrival day. This will be so much fun for those that it makes sense for. I will be consulting with each and every one of my 2025 arrivals to decide if they should take advantage of this, or pivot to something better for their family.
