Storybook Dining At Artist Point With Snow White

The hidden gem of Disney character dining, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, is one of the few character meals we return to often. On every visit we have thoroughly enjoyed our entire dining experience – from the food to the service to the characters.

Artist Point has been transformed into the Enchanted Forest, and it was just that… enchanting! We love dining under trees and twinkle lights, and everything just fits well in the Wilderness Lodge.

The trio of shared appetizers are delicious, well themed and beautifully presented.

  • Smokey Mushroom Bisque
  • Hunter’s Harvest: Turkey and Chicken, Cranberry Preserve, Crispy Sauerkraut
  • Wicked Shrimp Cocktail: Bloody Mary Vinaigrette, Seaweed Salad and Spiced House-made Seasoning

I love The Smoking Mirror cocktail, tasty and beautiful. Evil to the Core and Alchemy are our other two favorites.

The entrees are hearty and quite yummy! Here are our favorites:

  • “Cottage” Beef Stroganoff: Tender Beef, Preserved Vegetables, Spätzle, Mushrooms and Aged Cow’s Milk Cheese
  • A Stroll through Nature: Asparagus, Leeks, Arugula, Gnocchi, Sage, Parmesan (*Featured in Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World: Recipes & Stories from The Most Magical Place on Earth)
  • Royal Prime Rib Roast: Horseradish-Mashed Potato, Carrots, Jus

The Prime Rib comes with the most delectable popover that almost makes me want to order it just for that. That said, you can always ask for extras for the rest of your party!

Dessert is also shared, and each person in your party receives one of each. Our favorite is the Poison Apple.

  • Miner’s Treasures: Cookies ‘n Cream Panna Cotta and Chocolate Gems
  • Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart: Meringue and Gooseberry
  • “Poison” Apple: Dark Chocolate-Apple Mousse and Sour Center

The meal concludes with the presentation of a chest billowing smoke (Dry ice) and filled with The Hunter’s Gift to the Queen. Inside is a divine chocolate for each person in your party. (This used to be heart shaped, which was so much more “on-story”.)

Periodically throughout the meal, the characters also dance through the restaurant – it is really cheerful and happy. Meanwhile, The Queen (she apparently dislikes the Evil moniker) stands in the corner and rolls her eyes.

Of course, the characters stop by tables to greet guests and sign autographs.

The Evil Queen will send an invitation to your table when it is time to meet her.

Overall, this was an excellent experience in a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite resorts and I have extensively reviewed the property in THIS POST.
