Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of being among the first to experience Universal Orlando’s newest theme park: Epic Universe! I spent two full days exploring every “epic” corner, soaking it all in, and gathering plenty of tips, tricks, and insider insights to share with my clients.
Today in the blog we step through the warp pipe and into Super Nintendo World — a bright, kinetic playground where the beloved world of Mario and friends springs to life. With its colorful landscapes, iconic sound effects, and larger-than-life characters, this land feels like stepping straight into a video game. From the bustling Mushroom Kingdom to the lush jungles of Donkey Kong Country, every corner is packed with interactive adventures, family-friendly thrills, and nostalgic magic for gamers of all ages. It’s more than a themed land — it’s your chance to become Player One in your favorite video game. My boys said it best when they said “someone has finally created a theme park for us!”
Attractions in Super Nintendo World
Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe is packed with interactive attractions that bring your favorite games to life in thrilling new ways.
Take on Team Bowser in Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an interactive dark ride where augmented reality and real sets combine for a high-speed race through iconic Mario worlds. I’ll admit, I had NO idea what was happening on this ride, but I sure did love walking through the queue. As always, I figure my boys will be much better at this than I was. UPDATE: They loved it and we did it 3 times in 2 days!
For a more relaxed adventure, hop aboard Yoshi’s Adventure, a gentle ride perfect for families that offers a charming bird’s-eye view of the Mushroom Kingdom. I loved the interactive element here of searching for eggs.
Then, get ready to go bananas in Mine-Cart Madness, the Donkey Kong coaster where you’ll launch, jump, and barrel-blast through the jungle in a thrilling race to protect the Golden Banana. This one was a little jerky for my liking.
Perhaps even more fun and engaging for the kids than any ride, boost your fun with a Power-Up Band. Win keys in interactive activities at Super Nintendo World, collect digital coins and digital stamps, track your score, check your rankings, and more. You can buy the bands in the park or at your resort shop.
And, along the way, meet fan-favorite characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong for unforgettable photo ops.
