Boat Day!
For our last planned excursion of the trip, we were picked up bright and early and taken to Coco Beach to meet our two boat captions for the day! Once onboard, we spent the day exploring Culebra Bay and the surrounding coastline, spotting Spinner Dolphin and Green Pacific Turtles, cruising past hidden coves, listening to John’s playlist and soaking up the sun. We dropped anchor at a secluded beach only accessible by boat. While one of our guides took us snorkeling (so many turtles and fish!) and paddleboarding, the other set up an absolutely divine lunch on the sand, grilling steak, sausage and pineapple, pouring sangria and passing out ice cold beer. This picture-perfect spot was the ideal way to soak up every last drop of pura vida.
While we were anchored at the beach, a group of students from Barcelona that are spending the semester studying the turtles came over to do their work for the day. They were so friendly and we were fascinated by all we learned from them!
Evening in Las Catalinas
For the rest of our day, we napped on the porch, sprawled out on the sofa and were just as lazy as can be. We took a beautiful sunset walk that ended with dinner and ice cream. The perfect cap to this Costa Rican day.
