It’s spooky season in the Magic Kingdom, friends – and that means it’s time for one of my favorite Walt Disney World events of the entire year: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! These photos are from a few parties over the years, but the magic (and the mischief!) never gets old.

From the moment you step onto Main Street, USA, you’re greeted by pumpkins, buntings, scarecrows, and garlands of autumn leaves. The park transforms into the happiest Halloween town you’ve ever seen. It’s full of charm, not chills.
Seasonal snacks and specialty sips pop up all over the park during spooky season. Whether it’s a pumpkin-flavored treat, a candy corn milkshake, or a frightfully fun cupcake, you’ll find something delicious around every corner.
On Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights, the magic of Disney takes on a frightfully fun twist and it’s easily our family’s #1 event of the year. For over a decade, we’ve loved the costumes, rides, and trick-or-treating.
🎟️ Tickets allow entry at 4:00 PM, even though the party officially starts at 7:00 PM. We love to spend the morning enjoying Magic Kingdom, take a mid-day pool break, and return refreshed and ready to go once the sun sets.
🕷️ Around 4:00 PM, party guests have a dedicated entrance path near Tony’s Town Square. This is where you’ll get your wristband, treat bag, and some fun photo ops exclusive to partygoers.
💦 Pro tip: If rain puts a damper on your party night, visit Guest Services – in the past, guests have received park hopper tickets as a goodwill gesture when weather turned truly frightful!
Nearly all attractions are open during the party, and wait times drop significantly later in the night. We always hit the rides with Halloween overlays first – Haunted Mansion, of course, being a can’t-miss.
Speaking of which, the Haunted Mansion hosts are extra spooky this time of year, and you might even run into Madame Carlotta (or her sister, Renata) outside the gates. Their ghostly humor is half the fun!
Character greetings are another highlight – think rare appearances and exclusive Halloween costumes. Our personal favorite? Jack and Sally!
Don’t skip the PhotoPass photographers, either. Many have Magic Shots and props available only during party nights. If you’ve purchased Memory Maker, all these photos are included – and they’re such fun keepsakes.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is a wickedly wild fireworks show hosted by none other than Jack Skellington himself. It’s one of my all-time favorite nighttime shows, with a mix of projection, pyrotechnics, and Disney characters and music.
Watching from Main Street is the perfect vantage point. This year, we splurged on the Dessert Party, and I’m so glad we did! It was wonderful to have a covered viewing area – especially since the weather kept us guessing. (No refunds are issued if fireworks are canceled, so it was a relief when the skies cleared just in time!)
My favorite parade of the year is hands-down Boo to You! The Headless Horseman gallops down Main Street to open the show, followed by Disney characters in costume, villains galore, and of course, the Haunted Mansion gravediggers and ballroom dancers. We like to do rides during the first parade, then grab a curb spot for the second one once crowds thin out. This year, after the rain cleared, we scored front-row seats!
We stayed past midnight, then simply walked “home” to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. There’s something extra magical about strolling back under the glow of the monorail lights after a night of spooky fun.
