Citricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Cítricos is a restaurant we return to trip after trip. It is a favorite for all of us. This signature dining location at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa consistently ranks at the very top of my list. I truly find it hard to choose between Cítricos, Narcoossee’s and California Grill and would happily eat at all on every visit if I could.

Like the rest of the resort, Cítricos was beautifully reimagined with a whimsical Mary Poppins Returns theme, and the menu was refreshed to match. Both feel practically perfect in every way.

The dining room transports you into a fanciful garden inspired by the film’s animated sequence, with motifs of flowers, butterflies and soft, dreamy color palettes. The dressmaker details woven throughout the space are elegant and playful. I could not get enough of them. Part of the dining experience for me is the decor, and Cítricos delivers in every sense.

If you look closely, you might even spot nods to Mary’s hat and bag tucked into the design.

Honey and I have also spent time at the Cítricos Lounge over the past year, and it is just as lovely. Reservations are not required, and you can order from the full menu there. We have stopped in for drinks only, and I can confirm they are wonderful.

In fact, one of my top three Disney cocktails is found here. The Blossom Martini is beautiful and delicious, though I will admit I still miss the previous Orange Blossom Martini.

The meal begins with bread service, and from there it only gets better. My personal favorite starter is the Strawberry Salad. It may very well be the best salad I have ever had.

The menu, crafted by Chef Andres Mendoza, features Florida cuisine with Mediterranean influences. Our usual orders include the Guava Barbecued Short Ribs, the House Made Rigatoni and the Fish. Every one of these dishes is exceptional. I order the short ribs every single time and have never once regretted that decision.

We always add the Truffle Macaroni and Cheese for the table. It is pure indulgence and unlike any other mac and cheese I have ever tasted. If you are debating whether to add it, this is your sign. Do it.

If you can possibly save room for dessert, you will be glad you did. My favorite is the chocolate torte. The guys lean toward the Guava Cheese Fusion.

The Grand Floridian will forever be my favorite Disney resort, and the dining here is a big part of that. If you would like to read my full resort review, you can find it here:
