I nearly skipped a day of blogging for fear of boring you to tears. It was the most uneventful day in the best way possible. Coffee, breakfast and the boys living their absolute best lives on the slopes.
As for me, I leaned all the way into cozy. I camped out by the fire with my book, ordered room service for lunch, stayed in my pajamas far longer than socially acceptable, and even turned down housekeeping. (I never turn down housekeeping! Who even am I?) I binged Lead Children on Netflix, primarily because I was struggling with the remote and it won. Sometimes technology chooses for you.
That evening, things perked up a bit. Our friends came over from their rental to join us for the complimentary whiskey tasting at The Hythe. We settled in by the fire with wine while we waited for the boys to come down from the mountain, and it was one of those easy, unplanned gatherings that end up being the most fun.
With no real dinner plan, we wandered into Blue Moose Pizza. It was cozy, it was yummy, and the company was fantastic, which is really what matters most.
I had one of those full circle moments sitting there. Back in 2021, John talked us into a ski trip with his best friend and his family. We barely knew them when we agreed to go, and now they are some of our dearest friends. Fast forward five years and the same thing is happening with Whit. There is something really special about your children setting you up with lifelong friendships.
After pizza, of course dessert was required. Hot chocolate, affogatos, and ice cream all made an appearance. Is it even vacation if you skip dessert? I think not.
Nothing extraordinary, you see. But worth sharing nonetheless.
