My Milestone Disney World Birthday Trip {Day 3: Best Birthday Ever}

The theme for Friday was simple… Best Birthday Ever. And without a doubt, it was the most special Disney day I could dream up. Three generations, a party of nine, all together in a place we love, celebrating in a way that felt both joyful and meaningful.

I had to laugh at myself a few times over the course of the trip… fifty going on five. But truly, isn’t this age and stage all about you doing you? I can assure you, I am fully leaning into every bit of the magic.

Day 1: A Solo Start at EPCOT
Day 2: Let the Magic Begin
Day 3: Best Birthday Ever!

We started the morning slowly, all together in our villa. Some ordered breakfast from Primo Piatto, others picked up loaves of the delicious Riviera banana bread from Le Petit Café, and we gathered around the table and out on the balcony with coffee in hand. Having all nine of us there, in one place, to start the day felt like such a gift after the late arrivals the night before!

Minnie Vans + Main Street

We headed to Magic Kingdom in Minnie Vans, which always feels like such a fun and easy way to start the day.

Our first stop was right in front of Cinderella Castle for family photos. I will treasure these forever. My family has never done matching shirts before, and I am fairly certain I have not seen Daddy-O in a t-shirt in five decades. But everyone indulged me, and it ended up being the cutest, most special thing.

VIP Tour Magic

And then… the day truly began. We met our private VIP tour guide, Ray, and from that moment on, everything felt effortless. We started in Magic Kingdom and hit all the highlights. Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, TRON. Everyone chimed in with their favorites, and somehow we managed to cover all the greatest hits for the group. Along the way, Ray shared little insider tips, behind-the-scenes details, and those magical touches that make Disney feel so special.

We even made a stop in the VIP merchandise location to pick up a few keepsakes from the day.

From there, we slipped out a backstage exit, hopped into our waiting Sprinter van, and made our way over to Hollywood Studios. This is where the VIP tour really shines. Slinky Dog Dash, Tower of Terror, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Rise of the Resistance… all the rides with the longest waits, done with ease. Ray kept us stocked with waters and snacks throughout the day, and the unexpected favorite was the jalapeño cheddar stuffed pretzels. So good.

Next stop… EPCOT. We pulled backstage and went straight to Guardians of the Galaxy, where everyone made their song predictions. The very contested winner was Uncle J, which I still find questionable. Ha! We also rode the reimagined Test Track and wrapped up our park time with a sweet birthday treat from Ray before taking one final ride on Soarin’ Around the World. At the end of the day, he delivered us back to Riviera with full hearts, tired feet, and the biggest smiles.

A Perfect Ending

Back at the villa, everyone took a little time to recharge. Some napped, some watched TV, and some of us simply sat out on the balcony soaking it all in. We reconvened just before sunset for cocktails on the rooftop at Topolino’s Terrace. The views, the light, the moment… it all felt like the perfect exhale after such an incredible day.

Dinner was just as wonderful, and as we sat around the table together, I had the overwhelming sense that this was exactly what I had hoped for. A day filled with laughter, shared moments, and (almost all) the people I love most.

Trips like this are exactly why I do what I do. Thoughtful planning, the right details, and space to truly enjoy it all. If something like this has been on your heart, I would love to help you bring it to life.
