Some trips are so good… you don’t just recommend them, you go right back. Late last year, Honey and I celebrated his 50th at Atelier Playa Mujeres with a group of his closest friends, and it was truly one of those trips that sets the bar. So when it came time for my group’s 50th, there was no question.
I went back in February with my ZTA mahjong group, and it was every bit as special the second time around.

The Resort
Atelier Playa Mujeres is a luxury adults-only all-suite resort located just north of Cancun, and it is now firmly at the top of my list. How We Spent Our Days
The magic of both trips was in the rhythm of doing everything and nothing at all. We had ten ladies in tow – no guys this time!

Miguel took such great care of us throughout our stay. We savored perfectly prepared, beautifully presented food and bevvies delivered right to our chairs. Being that this group is our mahjong group, OF COURSE we made time for that! We also spent a completely relaxing day at the spa together. Have I mentioned it is in my top 3 spas anywhere?!
✨ Evenings out
Showers, getting ready for dinner, incredible meals, live music and long talks that stretched from sundresses table side to jammies all piled in two beds.
It was the kind of trip you don’t want to end. So many stories were told and re-told. We talked about being wives and moms and empty nesters and alllll of the things. There’s something really special about being with people you’ve known since you were a teenager.
Would We Go Back?
A resounding YES. In fact… we’re already talking about what a family trip here might look like next.
