There are some restaurants at Walt Disney World that quietly become favorites… and this is one of them. Whit and I wandered back in during a 2024 trip after not visiting for years, and it immediately reminded us why we loved it in the first place. Since then, we’ve been back multiple times, and it has officially earned a spot on our “need to visit” list.

Trattoria al Forno, located at Disney’s BoardWalk, is one we find ourselves returning to again and again. What I love most about it is that it doesn’t try too hard. It’s just consistently good and has a location that makes for such an easy, enjoyable evening at the BoardWalk.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone. It’s warm, lively, and just a little elevated without feeling overdone. The open kitchen adds so much energy to the space, with the sounds and smells of everything being prepared fresh right in front of you.
Trattoria al Forno’s wine list is entirely Italian, with a wide range of offerings from regions like Tuscany, Veneto, and Piedmont. Whether you lean toward a crisp Pinot Grigio, a bold red, or a celebratory Prosecco, there’s something here that pairs beautifully with the menu.

Speaking of the menu… it’s exactly what you want from a cozy Italian spot.

The pull-apart garlic pane rustico is always a must for us to start. It’s simple, comforting, and the kind of thing everyone keeps reaching for. I also love the Basil-Lemon Drop Martini, which gets its signature color from purple basil grown in The Land pavilion at EPCOT… such a fun little detail.

Whit will tell you without hesitation that the braised short rib is the standout. He’s ordered it more than once and still talks about it. I’ve gone with the plant-based bolognese and loved it… hearty, satisfying, and full of flavor.
And the pizzas? Surprisingly good. Truly better than the walk-up window nearby, and a great option if you want something a little more casual within a sit-down meal.

It’s one of those places that feels a little under the radar. And of course, this is exactly the kind of reservation I love working into my clients’ itineraries. The right restaurant, in the right place, at the right time can completely shape the flow of your day… and I handle all of those details so you don’t have to think twice.
