My favorite for Fort Lauderdale getaways and pre-cruise luxury
I’ve now done two stays at Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale and WOW… I’m still dreaming about it. The first time we stayed, I immediately knew we’d be back. In fact, before we had even checked out, I was already telling Honey that I wanted to bring Marme and Daddy-O the next time we sailed from Fort Lauderdale. The only thing I wanted to change? Stay longer.
This time, we learned from our mistake. Instead of flying in the day before our cruise, we arrived early and gave ourselves two nights and three glorious days to simply enjoy the resort. It was bliss.
This resort has every single thing I look for when recommending a luxury stop before you set sail. Think gorgeous accommodations, incredible amenities, fabulous service, and the location could not be more convenient. Just minutes from the airport and Port Everglades, Pier Sixty-Six is just plain easy. And let me tell you – vacation really starts here.

Stay at Pier Sixty-Six: Beautiful Rooms + Stunning Views
Every room feels sophisticated yet relaxed, with sweeping views of the marina or coastline that instantly invoke vacation mode. And with that extra night, we sure made the most of it!
We enjoyed this absolutely sprawling one bedroom suite, complete with two queens, two full bathrooms, a living room and a balcony running the length of the room. Now, this is going to sound bizarre but if you know, you know…. the toilets!!!!!
On my family visit, we went for the One Bedroom King Suite. For comparison purposes, here are pictures of that:

Savor at Pier Sixty-Six: Delicious Dining at Every Turn
Between sunshine, salt air, and fresh Florida flavors, you’ll find something perfect morning to night. A few highlights right onsite, and all Fort Lauderdale has to offer is mere steps away.

Pier Top
We enjoyed cocktails and dinner one evening at Pier Top, the resort’s beautifully restored revolving lounge. The views are simply spectacular, and watching the scenery slowly change as the restaurant turns makes the entire evening feel like an event rather than just another dinner reservation. It was one of our favorite experiences of the trip. Just be aware that Pier Top is only open on select evenings, so check the schedule as soon as you arrive if you’d like to dine there.
The Market
he Market is the resort’s casual café and the perfect stop for a quick breakfast or light lunch. Freshly brewed coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads and grab-and-go options make it an easy choice whether you’re heading out for the day or looking for a quick bite between pool time and exploring.
Sotogrande
Sotogrande is the resort’s waterfront restaurant overlooking the marina. We timed our dinner for golden hour and were rewarded with spectacular views. The atmosphere feels relaxed yet refined, making it just as enjoyable for a leisurely lunch as it is for a special dinner. Everything about this meal was good!
Garni
Garni is where we started each morning, and it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the day. The bright, airy restaurant serves an excellent breakfast with everything from fresh pastries and tropical fruit to hearty egg dishes and avocado toast. We loved lingering over coffee before easing into the day. Better yet, when you reserve Pier Sixty-Six through me, daily breakfast for two at Garni is included as one of your exclusive preferred partner benefits, making it an even sweeter way to start each morning.
In Room Dining
One morning, we opted for breakfast in the room, and it was every bit as wonderful as dining in the restaurant. There is something so relaxing about lingering over coffee and a leisurely breakfast while taking in the marina views before the day begins. Play at Pier Sixty-Six: Pools, Marina Views & Pure Florida Fun
One of the first things that wowed me here was the multi-level pool deck. It’s stunning! The upper level is home to the adult-only pool. It’s calm, stylish, and the perfect spot to recharge with a cocktail and zero splashing. We spent our whole free day pool side, sunning, reading, napping and enjoying a delectable lunch.
Just down the steps you’ll find the Resort Pool, complete with waterslides and tons of space for families to spread out and enjoy the Florida sunshine. If I were cruising with a group or kids, this is 100% where we’d spend a lazy afternoon.
Of course, the marina takes center stage. You’ve got jaw-dropping yachts cruising by all day long. It gives the whole resort such a chic, coastal energy.
There’s also a spa offering sea-inspired treatments (I have that one saved for my next visit!), plus a kids’ club for little travelers ages 4–12, and even snorkel and dive excursions right from the resort.
Whether you’re lounging with a mojito or heading off for an adventure on the water, there’s no wrong way to play here.
