Narcoossee’s Restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

There are a handful of Walt Disney World restaurants that we find ourselves returning to again and again, and Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is certainly one of them! We’ve enjoyed so many wonderful dinners here over the years, and our most recent visit during fall break was every bit as delicious as we remembered.

Since the menu is decidedly seafood-forward, Whit opted out of this one, leaving Honey and me to enjoy a lovely little date night in the middle of our family vacation. It was such a nice evening!

One of the things that makes Narcoossee’s so special is its location. The restaurant sits in its own charming waterfront building at the end of the Grand Floridian marina, with beautiful views across Seven Seas Lagoon toward Magic Kingdom. It’s a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the resort, which makes it feel like a destination all its own.

Inside, the restaurant has a wonderful coastal elegance, with warm wood finishes, nautical details and large windows overlooking the water. I’ve always thought it feels a bit like dining aboard a beautiful old ship. The open kitchen adds plenty of energy to the space, while the waterfront setting makes it feel wonderfully relaxed.

The menu focuses on seafood and steaks, and after so many visits, we’ve had the opportunity to sample quite a bit of it! The lobster bisque and Brussels sprouts have long been favorite ways to start our meal.

For entrees, we’ve enjoyed everything from surf and turf to scallops and shrimp and grits. I have a hard time choosing because we’ve had so many wonderful dishes here over the years. And if the Wild Mushroom Risotto is on the menu, don’t overlook it as a side. It is absolutely delicious!

Now, let’s talk about dessert because Narcoossee’s is home to my number one, all-time favorite dessert at Walt Disney World. The almond-crusted cheesecake! I have loved this dessert for years, and I missed it terribly when the restaurant was closed for its lengthy refurbishment. It’s creamy, delicious and everything I want in a Disney dessert.

And while we’re talking about favorites, I have to tell you about one of the very best cocktails I’ve had anywhere at Walt Disney World. The Salted Mascarpone Espresso Martini at Narcoossee’s is truly spectacular!

Made with Grey Goose vodka, Kahlúa, Joffrey’s Italian espresso and cane sugar, it’s topped with a wonderful mascarpone and Disaronno foam. And then comes the most unexpected finishing touch, a delicate Parmesan cheese crisp! I know that sounds like an unusual addition to an espresso martini, but it works beautifully. The combination is rich, creamy and just the right balance of sweet and savory. It is, without question, my favorite espresso martini on Disney property.

Narcoossee’s has always had a terrific bar, and I’ve enjoyed other cocktails here over the years, including the Empress Lime Gimlet and White Sangria. But that espresso martini has completely stolen the show!

Of course, the food is only part of what makes an evening at Narcoossee’s so memorable. We always request a window table overlooking Magic Kingdom and are happy to wait a little longer when one is available. There’s something so magical about enjoying dinner with the castle twinkling across the lagoon.

If you time your reservation just right, you may even catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks or the Electrical Water Pageant during your meal. We’ve enjoyed both over the years, and they make an already special dinner feel even more magical. If a window table doesn’t work out, there’s also an outdoor area where you can step outside to take in the view.

Our fall break dinner was such a lovely reminder of why we keep coming back. Between the beautiful waterfront setting, consistently delicious food and a few menu items that have become personal favorites, Narcoossee’s remains one of our favorite places for a Disney date night.

And yes, I’m already looking forward to my next almond-crusted cheesecake and Salted Mascarpone Espresso Martini!
