It’s June, y’all! And that means it was time to swap out the door decor for something bright, sunny and summery!!
Mother made the this cute little crab out of screens a couple of years ago and he’s always a favorite to pull out. We made similar shamrocks prior to her making this crab. You can see the DIY details for that here. Although I think she improved upon our original process and glued the screens together rather than stapling them.
My doggies also got festive orange polka dot bows and my ferns are alive and well. Miracles can happen, people.
Every time I post my door decor I get asked about the color – it’s Benjamin Moore Grenada Villa. You can find all of our exterior colors here, as well as the whole before and after story!
With that, I’m already counting down to the weekend. AWESOME plans await!!!
xoxo
I love your crab. I recently purchased a "house flag" that makes me think of you! I will DM you on IG.
I have a few questions…
Is your door wood or another material?
Was it in stock, custom order, or custom built having 6 panes of glass and going full door? Is the glass privacy glass?
Are your flower urns one piece or are they on risers? Where did you find them? I can't find any that tall.
Thanks in advance!
Hey!! Ok…here goes:
Is your door wood or another material? It's wood, but has been great since it is fully protected from the elements. Wood door on our last house was a nightmare.
Was it in stock, custom order, or custom built having 6 panes of glass and going full door? It was custom. It looks like a normal 6 panel door but has glass in the 6 pieces. It was custom. We hired a general contractor when we bought the place, I drew this out and he made it happen.
Is the glass privacy glass? No – regular glass. We are far up from the street so people can't see in :-)
Are your flower urns one piece or are they on risers? HAHA… they are fiberglass pots that were gray from Hobby Lobby 6ish years ago that I spray paint black every so often. They are sitting on metal pots that are upside down. I found those at target a couple of years ago.
I hope that helps!

Yes!!! Very much so! Thanks Amanda for taking the time to answer all of them.
I love the crab! I need to try and make one or something similar. Right now I have our oyster wreath out, but would love something a bit brighter for summer. Love the orange polka dot ribbon! Where did you pick it up? Orange will be baby girl's new school colors. May incorporate it in her party decor.
I don't recall! I got it last year. I'm sure Michaels or hobby lobby. That would be perfect for her party!!
Thanks Amanda. I have both near by, so will run in and see if I can find some.
Your Tybee Crab still looks good! Love, Marme
Amanda,
You are such a day brightener! LOVE YOUR POSTS AND THOSE BOYS OF YOURS ARE DARLING.
I tell my friends about your blog all the time. You are an amazing woman.
The crab is always my fave – I just love it. SO ready for the weekend!
Your crab is adorable! It's making me feel "a little crabby" too!
Have a wonderful weekend!

What? No photobomb in the window from Honey?
Love love love everything about this porch vignette!
Does your sweet Mama custom order? I so love this. We lived in DC for ten years after graduating college and loved our Chesapeak Bay crabs. While I am thrilled to be back down south, I would love to see this on your etsy shop. And a high five sent to Leiah – honey's photo bomb still makes me giggle. Hope y'all are off to a great summer. We have four more days here and then #schoolsoutforsummer!!!
