Halloween Countdown is On

We’re counting down to the spookiest day of the year with a fun treat each day…

Oct 1:  Boo! Breakfast
The littles gobbled up this not-so-scary ghost inspired breakfast.  Frozen waffles were toasted and cut with ghost cookie cutters (large black sprinkles made the eyes) and banana halves turned ghostly with a food safe marker.

Oct 2: Choose Costumes
We made decisions on who will be dressing up as what for our various costume-required engagements this month.  The PCP picked Perry the Platypus (which must be the only cartoon character not commercialized in a thirty-dollar costume in a bag) and Cookie picked Mickey Mouse.
Oct 3: Whoopie Pies
The littles loved making these sweet treats (from a box)!  And Mommy and Daddy loved eating them up once they went to bed.
Oct 4: Lunch Visit
Cookie and I surprised the PCP at lunch!  And we brought the last of the aforementioned whoopie pies for a super special treat :-)
Oct 5: Candy Corn Supper
While the boys all loved helping create the pizza, it didn’t look a lick like candy corn.  You see, the cheese was supposed to melt into the three candy corn-ish colors and then, when cut, the slices were purported to look like candy corn.  Ah, you win some and you lose some.  At least the candy corn ice cream (vanilla ice cream with candy corn mashed in) dessert was a hit.
Oct 6: Halloween Books
I unearthed our set of Halloween books for a super spooky bedtime.  Our favorites are My Monster Mama Loves Me So and Monster Musical Chairs.
Oct 7: Jumping Party
John had a ball at his school friend’s Monkey Joe’s birthday fete!  Afterwards, we dined on Kraft’s Trick or Cheesy Halloween shaped macaroni and cheese and whole wheat pita toasted tombstones (RIP in edible marker).
Oct 8: Daddy Day
The PCP proclaimed this “my best day ever” (and subsequently melted his mommy’s heart).  After a quick baseball practice, Honey presented the PCP with a GT jersey AND tickets to the Tech vs. Maryland game.  I understand a good time was had by all.  Well, all except me seeing as I was home potty training :-)
Y’all have a great one!  I’m volunteering in the PCP’s class and then having lunch with the little angel today!!
xoxo
