While down in Savannah over Christmas, I spent an exorbitant amount of time perusing the aisles of the AC Moore with Mother, Sister and two terribly cute babies. I know you Savannah gals mourn not having a Hobby Lobby down South, but I tell you what, AC Moore was pretty darn fab in it’s own right!
One of my favorite purches was this wood plaque and a can of chalkboard spray paint. Armed with a 50% off coupon, it was pretty much a steal.
Approximately three hours before our Champagne & Cupcakes New Years Eve, I sent Honey out to the yard with these supplies in hand. And darned if he didn’t come back with the cutest little chalkboard I’ve ever laid eye on. (He’s a good man, that Honey.)
Much like the duck egg blue chalk paint, you can expect to see this thing turning up all over the place around these parts…from messages to menus to musings.
I’ll be employing the baby as my sous chef today as we start work on the eats for a super fun shindig happening Friday night. More on that real soon…
xoxo
Excited for the feature at The Cottage Market!
Never thought to make a small chalkboard sign like that, but I like that it's "mobile" and you've found different used for it. Might have to make me one. I can think of like five things I could use it for already (menu, welcome, quote of the day, reminder, chores)
Thanks for sharing. Visiting from Southern Lovely :)
How clever. I like this idea. Found you at Junkintheirtrunk's linky party.
I LOVE that!! Much better than trying to find a place to hang it on the wall. I've been searching for a pretty frame to use…but no longer!
Thanks for sharing! I almost left a comment (after your New's Year post) to ask where the chalkboard was from…figured I asked too many questions. Since I have an ACMoore around the corner I'll definitely be copying this!

Betsy – you could NEVER ask too many questions :-) xo
I have seen a tray similar in Ballard Designs, but I like yours so much better!

Love it! I am totally stealing your idea! Oh and I can't wait to see what you end up doing in the baby's room when you get to it!

Stopping by from Funky Junk. i love the idea of a mobile chalk board. I really love it on the table highlighting the days/event meal. So many way to be able to use this. Multi-purposing is a good thing. I also love the shape of it. My fingers are crossed that you will share this at Sunday's Best party tonight, sharing is a good thing!
I love this idea! So simple, yet so elegant. Found you at My 1929 Charmer and am now following you.
This is so cute! I haven't seen the chalk paint in a can. It makes it look so easy.
