This cleat and rope picture hanger is one of my favorite accents on the porch! I love the coastal feel it imparts on the space. We hung Pottery Barn’s reclaimed pine flag picture for the Fourth, but it will soon be home of an Angie Reuter fish painting!!
I purchased the rope and cleats at River Services on Thunderbolt Island in Savannah. This store has a wealth of home decor possibilities! (See my nautical map table here.) Honey hung the cleats and used a dock knot to secure the rope. The 9” cleats were $15 each and I bought about $4 worth of rope.
He drilled two holes in the top of the flag picture, threaded the rope through, and secured it with a double knot.
We’ll use the same method to swap out the fish painting when it’s done. I can hardly wait!!

Hope to see you there!!
It turned out really cute!
What a great idea to 'hang" a picture from ropes rather than the traditional nail on the wall!!!
