When Sister became John’s godmother seven years ago, she gave him a beautiful sterling silver engraved baby cup to commemorate the occasion. She did the same for Whit at his baptism and then I continued the tradition when Honey and I became godparents for Jay and now CeeCee.
All four cousins have the exact same sterling cup by Empire Silver – an heirloom to be treasured and passed down for generations to come. I used Silver Gallery for this, as well as for other things over the years, and have always had great service and received a great product.
One of my other favorite baptism gifts is the Today I Was Baptized book. Both of our boys received it and I love that it has places to record special memories from the day.

And speaking of my littles, I couldn’t resist going back and looking over their pictures. John in April 2006…
My, time does fly. Their initials and the dates of their baptisms are embroidered on the slip. One day I hope to frame this in a shadow box… at least until the next generation comes along :-)

We do the sterling silver cups too – such a wonderful tradition. It's special to see mine right next to my children's
God Bless that beautiful little girl
what a great gift! I too try giving something silver during baptism since most of the time, the mom already has all the essentials from the shower! I love the baptismal clothes, truly worth keeping, framing or passing on to the next!
Our baby has this exact monogrammed cup! It's a beaut…
There is a strong resemblance between John's baptism photo and the photos you post of Bird. What a special time for your family.
Beautiful! I never thought to embroider the girls dates into their gown. Might have to go back and do that.
You should!!!! I envision it loaded with initials and dates long after I'm gone :-)
aww your gown kinda looks like ours!! that is a really neat story I should blog about sometime! we embroidered anna carolines initials on the inside of our christening gown.
There's something so special about baptisms…fresh new babies brought before God… Your gift is lovely, as are the boys' gowns. Love gowns for little guys as well as girls. Our gift to our baby granddaughter was her baptismal gown and her portrait in her gown. I did a post recently on a re-make of a baptismal table and shared her portrait. I thought you might like to see it, since you and your family seem to like baptisms as much as we do. :) ~Zuni
The Baby hasn't changed a bit! xoxo
So sweet… We did that, too! Embroidered the christening gown slip with the littles' monograms & baptism dates… So special, and such a sweet keepsake… :)
Love Outfits for little guys as well as girls. I love the baptismal clothes, truly worth keeping, framing or passing on to the next!
